I forgot how talented Keefer McGree was as a Freshman.

Keffer would've been one of the best to ever wear the uniform. Still sucks that he had the heart attack. Can you imagine him and JJ in the same backfield? Because that's what we'd have had in '97. And Robert Isaac as the scatback to boot.

Don't even start to go there with Jackie's OLs. Sure, THAT one was good, but the one in the 1995 season SUCKED. The same things that are happening to Mullen, happened to Jackie. It's not just a Hevesy thing. Steve freaking Campbell was our OL coach in 2003 of all seasons, and I'm seen some posters wanting him for OL coach. Remember how good our lines (both) were in 1999 and 2000? Then POOF - 2001 happens. And then in 2004...geez, the one thing I do agree with Croom on, is that Jackie left him like a total of 4 capable OL.

We always talk about the Senior QB Curse, and yeah it's fun to talk about the Dead Indians, but the fact of the matter is that no MSU coach has ever been able to consistently field an average OL year in/year out. That's why I advocate for innovation in this area.

We all thought Derrick Taite was going to get better, didn't we? (except me and RC3, we hated him in 1994 too). He regressed, mainly because our OL sucked in 1995 and 1996, and he was booed off the field.

But then we had the 97,98,99 and 2000 season. That argument isn't working with me. You need to take another approach.

Oh, like 2001, 2002, and 2003? OK.

Perhaps we should see what Mullen does in his 7-10th seasons, before we compare the 2.

I was the one that threw S. Campbell's name out there. I thought he was a pretty good OL coach, but he was only here one year, I think. BTW, how many capable OL did Croom leave?

Croom left Mullen a decent OL, just no skill players. Jackie left Croom the opposite.

As for Campbell...that was the point. A good OL coach doesn't always equate to a good OL.

Jackie left Crooms David Stewart- future NFL lineman. He left him another real good one that got busted for drugs- guy from Brandon. That hurt losing him.

Awesome, did he play all 5 positions?

He left him enough linemen to run over Florida's ass that 1st year. I cant remember who was left that year- but Jackie left Crooms some really good players. Crooms felt it super necessary to run some off and had to show there was a new sheriff in town. Jackie left Crooms more talent than Crooms left Mullen.

Maine too? UAB? Vandy?

Look Croom didn't do much while he was here but the situation in 2003 was worse than 2008. You've gotten pretty terrible lately, but don't be plumb ridiculous.

So we had enough talent to beat Fla but not Maine? UAB? Vandy? Do you even read what you typed??? Holy shit.

David Stewart
David Price
Johnny Wadley
Brian Anderson
Chris McNeil
Otis Riddley
Avery House
Will Rodgers
Donovan Davis
Richard Burch
and others. There were plenty of OL guys left for Crooms

Look at the roster- Crooms losing to Maine, UAB, and Vandy is down right sickening:

Those years fell on the defense not the OL. Sparky Woods was the OC during that time. We still had All SEC rbs and WRs and a guy by the name of Donald Lee whom he didn't know how to use.

Also, Keifer couldn't swim. There's no way he passes a physical to play SEC football with a condition strong enough to kill him the moment he hits the water. But I'll leave it alone

David Stewart - Great
David Price - Trash
Johnny Wadley - Awful
Brian Anderson - Serviceable
Chris McNeil - Decent
Otis Riddley - Bad
Avery House - Bad
Will Rodgers - Who?
Donovan Davis - Never panned out
Richard Burch - Kicked off team

Jackie didn't leave Croom much of anything on the OLine.
