Did their upperclassmen not show out in practice or what?

One of my biggest complaints about Mullen

Think of how great they'll be in two years though!!**

Ha,I said the same thing right after Scott scored the game winner for the Spartans...

@CadaverMSU: "Hey Mullen, That was a TRUE FRESHMAN running back that scored the Big10 game winner. Yep, freshmen running backs CAN contribute as starters."

I'm actually working on a piece about this. It's a loaded schematic issue. I talked to a recent former college RB and a coach and really picked their brains. I think I have a solid idea.

Kyle Whittingham said it takes 2 weeks to get a RB ready to play in the Spread

Dan Mullen say it takes 2 years

So you're agreeing it takes 2 got damn years to produce at RUNNING BACK? The easiest damn position on the field to have an impact early? C'mon, mane.

I thought I saw a post earlier that yall had redshirted like fifteen guys... and a bunch the year before...

is this indicative of A) the process, B) talent, or a combination of both?

I can't fathom RSing over half a class... frick, put em on ST and at least lettem get their paws wet....

No... I'm saying we don't have a Rb on Scott's level so it's not really apples to apples

We red shirted a rb that nearly averaged 150 yards a game in high school......nick Gibson. Mullen put too much stock in our current RBs.

If Gibson looks really good I'm going to be that much more pissed about this year.

Unless our oline plays well, our rb's will continue to struggle.

This is true. Bo Jackson couldn't run with our o line

I think we redshirt too many. If they can help, play them. Do y'all think mullen would have played marlin humphr?y this ye?r?

Really Clark?

Yes. We played Peters and McLaurin in the secondary.

Bama red shirted Humphrey. We played Johnson, Peters, McLaurin, and Dear as true freshmen. Not to mention, we were a play away from pulling Deddrick Thomas' red shirt. Alabama only played Ridley, Fitzpatrick and Payne this year as true freshmen. I don't think Damien Harris lost his red shirt..... I think he played 2 plays this year. We give our guys the decision to red shirt on their own. Most of them take the red shirt offer so they can adjust to the speed of the game and condition themselves better.

Its not COMPLETELY O-line. You can watch our RB's and just tell they aren't really naturals.

In limited touches, lee and Williams at least showed the ability to pick up 4-5 yards on play shump would've picked up 1. I know...fumbles. But it's not like shump took care of the ball either.

Too much hesitation..... the holes have been there at times. We need someone who isn't afraid to make a mistake.

Lee took himself out of the RB equation. Got to do your job off the field too

Damien was Bama's 3rd leading total yds rusher... he "lost" his RS when Scarborough blew up his knee.
