Yea, I thought the same thing. It's like we over complicate things..."make sure you stay behind your guy"....NO, just cover the bastard like you've done your entire life and don't think so much. Our soft pass coverage and allowing such cushion is beyond frustrating to watch game after game and year after year

It's very frustrating. It looks like our guys are told to cover an area of the field instead of a guy that is in their area of the field.

Out defense would be a lot better overall if we would throw out the concept of sparrow tackling and just play a few steps closer to the line of scrimmage. There's plenty of other issues of course and better personnel always helps but we need to tweak our philosophy a bit.
