I'm guessing with the investigation still ongoing, they had to get permission to release the booking shot. Lot's of speculation just like with Dan and his job hunting.

One of the articles that came out the day after the incident had a Facebook linked comment section at the bottom. One guy who evidently worked at the jail said that another inmate gave him the black eye while he was locked up. If you watch the video closely it appears as though the cop does in fact swing at the guy but misses. My guess is if he got beat up in jail, he concocted the whole story about getting nailed by a law enforcement officer simply to file a lawsuit and hopefully get some cash.

This reminds me of a story years ago, if anyone remembers the details please jump in. A UNM fullback got into a bar altercation (go figure) and was charged with disturbing the peace or similar. His WIFE WAS CHARGED WITH ASSAULT AND BATTERY. Now my facts may have scrambled with time but I'm pretty sure that is close..

No - he still got beat up by the cops. We watched the video. It just didn't do nearly as much damage as the family claimed. Cop was still very wrong to punch the guy and should be punished.
