If Kelly gets it, I'll honestly have lost hope in humanity. That would be a colossal failure on the part of the AP to understand their relative contributions and quality of play. Kelly pissed away games against Memphis and Florida, awful.

Yeah, if the AP watched the games (and you know they don't) it would be Dak, but they'll just look at the stat line and who won the egg bowl if it's close. It's not a terrible way to decide it, but Dak should without a doubt be the SEC offensive POTY based on what he meant to this team. A 7 TD performance at Arkansas is as far as you have to look.

That's correct. In conference only games Dak is the #1 QB in the league in passing and total offense. He also beats Kelly in QBR.

I agree that Brandon Allen had an impressive year but why was it more impressive than Dak's? More yards? More touchdowns? More wins? None of those.

He also had the benefit of a very good running game. So as impressive as Allen's season was... Dak's was even more so especially given what he had to work with.

34-52 and 335 yards against LSU is pissing it away? Kelly threw 2 picks against Memphis that's pissing it away. Dak threw 11 passes against Northwestern St and 6 against Troy. He probably lost at least another 400 yards on his totals because of that then Kelly would have been second in that number anyway for all games. Kelly and Dak had almost the same QB rating against A & M (Kelly threw 3 picks). They just happened to play the crappy Allen version.
