Recently decommitted from FSU, and seems to be leaning our way. 247 shows offers from Bama, UGA, And UF among others. Anyone know what's the deal here?

I noticed this yesterday as well. Not really sure but it seems we are turning up the heat on the recruiting trail.

I also saw where we offered an OL commit to Minnesota and he is thinking about making a visit. We need all the help we can get at DB and OL.

We've been on Couch since the spring. We felt good about him then but he takes a trip to Tallahassee & commits. He's only been down there 1x since. They're looking at him as a LB & we're recruiting him as a WR. Kid is a big time athlete & would be a great pickup.

It's Vincent Calhoun. Juco OG from Southwest CC. He's originally from GA. Minnesota fired their OL Coach this week so that helps a lot. He was the OL MVP for MS Juco. Also made the all region team.

Probably not. His quote from a couple days ago: But I am still committed to Minnesota and I think I am sticking with them. Mississippi State wants me to visit on Dec. 12th and I am still debating that.

That was also before Minnesota's OL Coach was fired.

He has to see opportunity here. If he's good enough, he can step right in for Malone or even deeper. We need a guard

Of course this is recruiting but I expect him to visit next week. If he does OV I expect him to be a Dawg.

Vincent Calhoun would be solid for us in '17 & '18 after a redshirt year.**

I'd love for us to get this guy.

I'd love to get some real Juco OL help. We got the #1 overall OL out of Juco last year, and he redshirted.

Hope that trend doesn't repeat itself.

Well....I sure wish we had redshirted Darrion Hutcherson. I really don't have a problem redshirting Jucos. It seems like they generally have a hard time adjusting to SEC ball. I maybe wrong, but I think redshirting Rankin will pay off in the long run.

Jamal Couch is similar to Bear. The guy is a monster but very raw at the position. His school runs an offense similar to Auburn. So they basically run the ball for the majority of the snaps. He's a great blocker though.

I've noticed a South Carolina OL commit, Cushenberry, mentioned some lately. Let's load up

My final 3 OL would be Lashley, Calhoun, & Gentle Williams. We get those 3 & keep it moving.

If we get Calhoun to flip he needs to come in and battle for a spot. Him and Rankin both need to be playing. You also got Jocquell Johnson that had to redshirt when he first got here but I think he was injured. If we are recruiting juco OL they need to come in and play not redshirt. We redshirt too many damn players. I was all for redshirting rankin this year cause I thought we wouldn't need him according what everyone was saying about our OLine getting better but it turned out we needed him. He could have helped out big time at tackle. He and Elgton Jenkins need to be our tackles next year and we need some road grader guards. And my gosh can we not get Gabe Jackson to come down in the offseason and teach our guards something that guy was a beast and didn't take any shit. Also saw Sherrod with some people tailgating by us before the egg bowl, sure would love to have him back.

Cool, then we could have the Brown brothers at LB and the Calhoun brothers on the OL.

I saw someone (Steve or Paul) say last week they expected about 20. Who knows, though, some extra dead weight may get processed we're not expecting (or, OTOH, some juniors we weren't counting on may go in the draft)

We'll prolly sign right at 25 with sign & place guys included.
