Muschamp 2.0
And UGA's record of underwhelming hires and underachievement stay intact.

Really Clark?

Funny you mention Muschamp, reported that Smart wants him to be the DC.

This is great. More instability at Auburn

Awful hire by UGA BTW. This a big gamble by them

Just add Lane Kiffin and "Hard Knocks" will have a college version.

Jesus it must suck to be a Georgia fan. You're a top 5 job in the country and you settle for an unproven coordinator

This may be prove to best hire ever, but right now it's seems terrible.

Personally I am happy about this. This is how Dynasties get broken up. Coordinators take other jobs and coaching staffs get separated. Hopefully this begins a decline of Bama.

UGA's last 5 hires - AU ast., UGA ast., 1-AA HC, FSU OC, Bama DC
Rinse, lather, repeat, fire for underachieving.

People forget Dooley came close to being fired a couple of times in the 70s, and almost left for AU.

Especially if he takes Cochran with him. TUSK knows how much Scott means to that program. Saban will make solid hires but this will hurt them.

I think like most schools, Georgia feared losing an alum to another job. They feared Smart having success at South Carolina and forever having to deal with the reality that they passed on their alum.

It will for sure. He's been there for a while and that stability gives Saban a lot of freedom to focus on being a head coach. He's going to essentially have to be the co-DC next season to teach a new coordinator his defense.

Jeremy Prewitt is the guy probably heading to Bama. So it won't be that big of a change.

ETA. Another poster mentioned Cochran, he could definitely go with Smart along with Napier possibly and maybe Schumann.

I am praying to God Cochran goes with him. My wife is a Bama grad so I usually end up going to one or two games each season. It would be delightful to not have that asshole yelling over the PA system the entire game.

Is Cochran the douche hype up guy on the sideline? If it is I don't know if I hate him or trooper Taylor more

Very risky to hire one of Saban's DC since they don't really run the show. They're basically protege's.

If Smart goes to UGA, Kiffin finds another set of dumbasses to hire him, and Bama wins the national championship what are the odds Saban coaches Bama next year?

Wish all that happens....well Saban leaving mainly... if Bama winning another NC has to happen for him to walk away... then so be it.
