It's interesting to me that half of those guys playing pro ball are from the last two years. Cohen has really done a hell of a job.

Polk left the cupboard bare but really that's usually how it goes. Most don't have a long pro career.

Look for Stratton to be moving up soon. He has been pretty dominant in Single A this year. I'd like to see a 2015 debut if not late next season.

I think Paps could be moving teams in the offseason. Seems like he nor Cliff Lee are very happy with being in Philly.

Its possible. But the way he's pitching I don't know how many clubs will want to absorb his contract for 3 more years. He hasn't even dominant. And his contract means he should be.

Norris with era barely over 1. I'm getting sick thinking of how we could've used him as a pitcher instead of a paper weight this past season.

His fastball velocity is at a career low of 92.2 mph.
2012 was 93.8 mph and 2011 was 94.8

His K rate is DRASTICALLY down at 7.78 per 9 IP
2012 was 11.83 and 2011 was 12.17

Not good trends for Pap.

he's had hip issues this year and was still hitting 92 on his sinker tonight. Pitched to 3 in the 9th against the Braves and retired the side, with 2 K's I think. Either way, I can guarantee he'd take a lower salary to get out of there is Philly will let him go.

The Phillies can move him if they'll eat most of his salary. They are not a well run team right now and they are old. They're going to start dumping guys before long- like Lee, Utley, maybe even Halladay and if they dumped Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins it wouldn't shock me at all. Sometimes it's worth it to a team to eat a contract like that rather than keep an unhappy player around.

My guess is they will try to trade him in the offseason. Veteran closers like Papelbon have pretty good value in the MLB market. Especially to someone like the Diamondbacks.

UPDATES

Renfroe: Strugalaling like Joe Namath since the promotion. That 5% BB rate ain't gonna cut it big man, nor will the 32% K rate. High BABIP so he ain't getting robbed. Work on your approach, this is big boy ball now not a St. Joseph's Sunday starter. What do I take from this projecting forward? Nothing. Not till next August.

Frazier: Sporting a .398 OBP which is good for 2nd highest in his league. Ho-hum. Keep rolling big dawg, Neil Walker will be trade bait soon enough.

Graveman: Steady as she goes. Needs to drop his BB% some with that low K rate.

Girodo: Has been great. Of the 284 pitchers in A ball with > 20 IP he is 9th in FIP.

Pollorena: Not bad so far since the promotion

Stratton: Hope to see him in AA next year.

Vickerson: Kid is getting older and really has to start swinging the bat better. Great hitters eye (17% BB rate) but flirting with Mendoza every year won't cut it.

Easley: Fueled by a super high .383 BABIP he is having the best year of his career. But, it is a fluke. This is his 7th professional season and the first that he has been above league average hitting at any level. He has very little power. 28 career HR in 7 seasons. I hope he gets a shot, I hope he grows into some power, but I just don't think he is MLB material.

Devin Jones: sucks

Shepherd: Can't hit.
