Anyone else think this would be a sneaky good hire? Look him up. He took USF to #1 in the country then he struck a player and got fired. That over five years ago. Nobody has given him another chance as a HC since.

We could do worse, but his best season in FBS was a 9-4 season the year they were #2 (not #1), and that was playing a bunch of Big East schools with a huge geographic recruiting advantage, so I'm not sure he's an upgrade over Mullen.

If we pay up for a rockstar OC

Really Clark?

No. Best case for him is to go to a low tier school and rebuild his reputation. There are too many good coaches without that baggage. Jeff Brohm, Blake Anderson, Montgomery, Rhule, etc. Not to mention coordinators.

At 58 he's probably too old to successfully take over an SEC program. Leach and Sherril had "baggage", but they were a good ten years younger when they took over Wazzou and MSU.
