Dan is basically doing what every coach does, except for a few greats. It's tough to maintain the intensity 7 years in. I think Dan actually mellowed a while ago, it's just that he was overall good enough managing the program and had some pieces fall in place to produce last years run.

Freeze is where Mullen was four years ago. the one advantage freeze has is him mellowing out won't hurt recruiting.
