But Malik is 1 for 7 with 1 assist in the second half of his 5th college game. Is it time to worry? Not trying to stir the pot... honestly just concerned that he's not making an impact and the clock is ticking.

for msu, it might not be the worst thing in the world if he is slow to come around and ends up returning to play with our incoming class.

I'm not near as basketball savvy, but I wonder if he's really one and done material.

Still battling turf toe and his left hand and wrist is taped heavily. Not near 100%.

Bbbbbut he hasnt practiced in 3 weeks. How can anyone expect a McDonald's All American to come in and dominate SWAC and Ohio Valley powerhouses!!

Exactly where I'm at. With all respect, if he's that hurt that he can't contribute let's have him stay on the bench and keep doing rehab for a bit.

He's going to be fine.

Q on the other hand is the real deal. What a player, so glad we got him. Making a big impact very early.

Maybe he should stay another year...Being told you are one and done is different than being one and done.

Malik is 50/50 one and done. He needs to come back and play with Spoon and be a dominant backcourt next year

I agree with this. Go watch Ben Simmons for LSU or Skal or UK. They are no doubt one and done. I still think he's gone because he will improve when he gets healthy, but he needs to come back.

He's also attempting to play PG instead of SG.

He needs to learn to play the point for real. Not going to get there with just one season of hoops where he's struggling to get healthy for the first 10+ games. I'd love to see him back and then gone, but it's funny to think he would have been a top 20 pick in last year's draft.

He's a short 2 guard in the NBA with limited PG skills. What is crazy to me is we don't even try to run sets with him coming off of screens to shoot. Yet IJ and chicken shoot like its NBA Jam on Sega Genesis.

He makes a lot of rookie mistakes... when he gets healthy and used to the college game, he is likely to be an elite player by anyone's standards.

His ultimate problem right now is that he's tentative when he gets the ball. I don't know if it's because of the turf toe or inexperience, but he's got to be more aggressive. He's been almost unstoppable when he drives and attacks. Not the best shot selection either when he does decide to shoot, which will get better with experience. You can see from the flashes that the talent is there.

He's playing with a steel sole in the injured foot's shoe. That shoe doesn't bend at all... I would think that's very awkward.

We won by 25 today and the other freshman (Q) had a great day. How about we talk about how well Q and ware played today and not complain about an injured freshman?
