I'm not real optimistic given we are playing a SWAC team.

Talking heads told us during the East Washington game Howland said he would play tomorrow. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't wait until the next game, though.

Will we see any defense tomorrow?

Unless we want to foul our whole team out, no.

Horatio said Friday night after our game that Malik may not play until P.R.....but he wasn't sure.

I would expect him to play at least a few minutes tomorrow night.

Howland said that it depended on practice today. That's all anybody actually knows.

I agree with this. We are not deep enough to play physical defense because of the way the games are called this year. It's shameful what the ncaa is doing to basketball.

Who cares if we keep scoring at a high pace. Our transition game did a 180.

I don't know if anyone is deep enough to play physical defense throughout a game. I understand what they're trying to do, but they're taking it way too far. In just about every game I watched, you could tell that the players had gotten timid on defense because they were afraid any little thing they did was going to get whistled.

I'm waiting for the refs to say this isn't working and quit calling games like they are now.

My thoughts exactly. Although I think it'll have to come from the top. The commentators, when talking about it, repeatedly say the refs are calling it at the NCAA's instruction in such a way that makes me think the refs aren't on board.

I think what they are attempting to do is force players to become better at shooting, catching and passing. The teams that can shoot well and shoot free throws well will win. No more bully ball. We are going to benefit greatly from this because Howland understood what they are trying to do right away and he has made developing skilled players a priority from day 1. We look to have improved drastically in shooting this year. Howland is very smart. He is the man.

That sounds bad for Ole Miss and their karate chop defense.
