I've heard reports on our ex-dogs, but not cord. Has anyone heard how he's doing? What is the shortest amount of time he could possibly fall back to us if minors doesn't work out?

Last I saw he was hitting like .227 with 1 home run for the Phillies rookie ball team. He is already listed as the Phillies #20 top prospect on MLB.com.

Maybe his path will go just like the great Kyle Parker's has gone.

I wish Easley would get traded so he could get to the show. If he was in the right situation he could be an everyday catcher. It's going to be tough in the Diamondbacks org. His CS% is 43% and he's batting .308 in AAA. What's a guy gotta do?

I bet he gets called up in September.

Renfroe has been named a Northwest League allstar for the South team.

I agree with the power part to a certain extent. Very seldom do you get the total package at catcher.

i wish cord the best. he made a decision he thought was right for him at this point in his life. He can always come back and play football in college if he isnt successful.

some HS draftees or signees spend 5 years or longer in the minors before they develop enough to make the Majors. If a player repeats a full level, that's usually a bad sign. But it is entirely typical for a player that eventually makes the Majors to still be in A ball (albeit high-A) 3 years after being drafted out of HS.

I'd say 3 years the earliest if he gets impatient...otherwise I think it's 4 years and he better be stuck in high A at that point. Even then we'd have to recruit him all over again and who knows if we'd both be interested at that point.

If its my son, I tell him to do exactly what Cord did. Take the money, bank it, and negotiate into your contract that the team will pay for your college.

I agree. I hate we lost cord, but it would have been a bad decision by him to come here IMO
