The MSU Office of Admissions and Scholarships is hosting a special recruiting event on August 29. Students are invited to attend the college fair and meet with several university officials to learn more about life at MSU. President Mark Keenum will also address the crowd. Friday, Aug. 30 - Alumni Gatherings

Greater Houston Alumni Chapter Golf Tournament
When: 9 a.m. Shotgun Start
Where: Tour 18 Golf Course (3102 FM 1960 East, Humble, TX 77338)
Who: Everyone

Join the Greater Houston, Texas Alumni Chapter for its annual charity golf tournament. Registration fees are $125 per person and $500 per team, and the deadline is Friday, Aug. 23. Bulldog Hangout at BlackFinn
When: 6 - 10 p.m.
Where: BlackFinn American Grill (1910 Bagby Street, Ste. 100, Houston, TX 77002)
Who: Everyone

Bulldog fans are invited to attend a special happy hour at BlackFinn American Grill in Midtown Houston. The restaurant will offer specials on food and drinks during the night. This is the "unofficial hangout" for Bulldogs on the Friday night preceding the football game.

Saturday, Aug. 31 ? AdvoCare Texas Kickoff

Pep Rally and Pre-Game
When: 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Pep Rally at 11:30 a.m.)
Where: Reliant Center, Exhibit Hall E (Map)
Who: Everyone

The MSU Office of the President, Alumni Association, Bulldog Club and Foundation will host a pre-game celebration and pep rally on Saturday prior to kickoff. The free event will offer tailgate hotdogs, chips and lemonade, while supplies last. A cash bar will also be available. The pep rally will take place at 11:30 a.m., and Dawg Walk will follow at 12:15 p.m., location to be announced later. Pom poms and beat stickers will be available for fans.

Dawg Walk
When: 12:15 p.m.
Where: Reliant Stadium, Between Ford and Amegy Bank Gates (Map)
Who: Everyone

Come out and cheer on the Mississippi State Bulldogs as they enter the stadium to take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Bring your cowbells and pom poms as we welcome Coach Dan Mullen and the Bulldog football team. The team will arrive at the south end of the stadium between the Ford and Amegy Bank Gates. This is near the Miller Time Pre-Game Tailgate and parking lots 18 and 19. Click here to view a map of the grounds.

AdvoCare Texas Kickoff ? Mississippi State Bulldogs vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys
When: 2:30 p.m. Kickoff
Where: Reliant Stadium (Map)
Who: Everyone

The Mississippi State Bulldogs will take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys for the inaugural game of the 2013 college football season during the AdvoCare Texas Kickoff. The game will be broadcast live on ABC/ESPN2. Tickets for the game can be purchased by visiting the MSU Athletics website here.

Security Checks

All items allowed into Reliant Park facilities are subject to inspection. Bags larger than 11" x 17" and all backpacks will not be allowed. Lockers and storage areas are not available. Diaper bags are permitted and will be inspected.

Prohibited Items

Items not permitted into Reliant Park facilities are inclusive of, but not limited to, the following:

Video or audio recorders or similar devices
Professional camera equipment or lenses over 12" in length
Laser pointers
Weapons/firearms
Air horns/whistles or other noisemakers
Backpacks, large bags 11" x 17" or sealed packages of any kind
Bottles or cans
Coolers or containers
Fireworks Frisbees, beach balls, etc.
Outside food or beverage (Exceptions are made for medical reasons and baby food)


The following items are permitted into Reliant Park facilites: (All exceptions noted on event pages)
