I mentioned this topic earlier on here but I think its strange that he would even say that if he was 100% OM. That's enough to up the intake of Robotussin in Oxford tonight.

That article isnt written if he was 100% Ole Missus.

They better hope he doesn't visit there the weekend of LSU / Bama ...

I think it's less than 2% chance he flops to Bama but if he did it would be a double win for MSU. 1. It would be fun to laugh at OM 2. May give Jalen Hurts pause about going to Bama & lead him to us. Again I'm not seeing either thing happening.

If Shea signed with bama, would om just fire his brother? Could brother then in turn sue om saying they fired him for not delivering Shea?

Would love to see this for both teams.. I think Bama could do much better at QB so this would be great for us.

Let's do our part and press Jalen. Would he come to us and why? Has he ever been to Starkville?

Yes he's been. He's 100% set on Bama & I don't know if he'd flip even if Shea committed. Just was a what if scenario. Just like Shea flipping to Bama.

I agree, they are just flipping their own recruit again. He will be a Confederate.

Saban is too smart for this - he will not let that kid on campus to recruit for Ole Miss while there. This is something their coaches try to do and Saban and our coaches know it.

It wouldn't surprise me that this story leaks right before Greg Little goes to Bama for his official visit and the bears are trying to get Patterson to go to Tuscaloosa to be in his ear the whole time.

Also, this is all clickbait material by these recruiting site writers - they have a headline that reads, "Patterson considering visit???" Pay 9.99 a month to find out. It works.

I know Texas site last year did that with the Kyler Murray recruitment their memberships spiked.

Black bears are good at winning these press conferences and such. Their fan base and regional media types will be talking about how Hue Freeze out crooted Bama -- BAMA!!11one! -- for this guy.

No, but I suspect they'd just bury him. He may be making above market pay, but his title doesn't exactly set the world on fire. I would assume if Shea comes, his role will become more prominent. If he doesn't, he'll be just another employee. Probably not worth firing him and if they really don't need/want him, they could almost certainly get him to leave on his own within a year or two without doing anything openly to retaliate for Shea not coming.

His parents moved to the coast..so Saban has a chance to meet with them and not worry about an OM booster hiding them in a safe house

Shay reminds me a lot like Drew Lock of Mizzou. Shay would easily excel more in Alabama's system, but that's for him to choose.

Is anybody sure that Bama wants Patterson??? He doesn't seem to fit what they look for in a QB...small, relatively immobile, average arm strength...LSU had him behind some guys (Franks, at the very least)...doesn't seem the prototypical Bama QB target

From my limited knowledge, he seems like a guy that can be successful but only in a certain system and that's not bama's.

Exactly. I can't see Bama even wanting him. Just like we don't want him. Not saying he isn't a good qb, just saying he doesn't fit the mold we or Bama are looking for; i.e. lack of size and limited mobility. He just doesnt fit our respective systems, that's all. I think he's a pretty good high school qb-- more developed mechanics wise compared to his peers. But will that translate to SEC defenses? I'm not so sure about that.
