Tyson is Greg's kid? Thats great. Webster, Carter...we get Woodard and Brooks to give back to the program as well you would have to love the story of former player's kids being in M&W

A couple of articles said he is ranked number 2 in the state of Mississippi. Who is considered the number 1 player?

Mario Kegler is still considered a MS prospect by some.

Darius Hicks used to be the big fish for us. Thank god that's not the case anymore.

Direction of the program has changed completely.

Is Keglar in state?

That's what was confusing to me. I know Kegler is from Mississippi, but I understand he's in Virginia now. I didn't know whether he was considered in state or not.

I would love to see him in Maroon and White though. We got the top two guys from Mississippi last year. It would be good to do it again.

Schneider Herard would be my guess.

I noticed his commitment triggered predictions for State on Kegler and Herard. Both by a Kansas guy. Is there any connection here?

Kegler & Tyson are tight. I think he's just realizing that Herard isn't coming to Kansas.

But to go where? He's had his dream job & it didn't work out. I don't expect him to leave MSU for anywhere else. It's not like a major powerhouse program is going to come open & if they do who's hiring a guy in his 60's.

Isn't Louisville an adidas school? If RP retires in a couple seasons, I could see them maybe pursue howland if Ben is as successful as I think he'll be

Ifyouonlyknew, what would you say the chances of landing all 4 of the Herard/Kegler/Davis/Ado group are? I'm guessing really good on Herard, Kegler, and Ado, and it depends on Davis and his visit?

I think it's a good chance we get all 4. I feel like Kegler & Ado are done deals. Herard is close to a done deal & if Davis has a good visit I think we pull him too.

I'll be shocked if Howland doesn't retire at State, for the reasons mentioned. This 2016 class has a chance to end up being the kind of class good enough to eventually win a national title. He's already seen that he can absolutely recruit the kind of talent he wants here, and there's more on the way with Woodard and the other 2018 guys.

And as Ifyouonlyknew said, he's too old to be job-hopping. A school like Duke, Kansas, UNC, Kentucky, Arizona, etc. is not going to come calling, so where would he go? Baylor? Illinois? Oklahoma? Schools like that don't really offer anything he doesn't have here. He likely only has about 10-12 years left in his career, so why build this program up and then leave after 5 years only to have to build up another program?

That's pretty incredible.

I'm guessing Herard, Kegler, and Davis are all being sold on immediate playing time, and Ado would be more of a developmental guy? It's crazy to think of a guy like that as developmental, but he won't get much playing time right away.

Kegler & Herard would have the best chances to start IMO. Herard would pretty much start by default. I think Holman would start at the 4 but Davis would get plenty p/t. Ado is good enough on the defensive he could make an impact there early on as Herard's backup.

I didn't predict he'd leave. I just said I could see them pursing him.

I'm just gonna enjoy having howland for as long as we have him. I'm gonna thank our lucky stars we got a coach of his ability and not worry about him leaving

This. At his age, highly unlikely he bolts for somewhere else. If he was in his forties, ok. But not at sixty.

We are not Murray state in hoops. We've got SEC hoops tradition. The guy hasn't coached his first game here and your questioning how long before he bolts. Show some confidence in your program. Howland and his wife are happy here and his recruiting so far proves that.

that would bring me great joy. still pissed that we passed on Rodney Hood a couple drafts ago. hopefully Malik comes out with good analytic stats b/c that's all our FO looks at.
