good. He's snake bitten, kinda like Nick Griffin. I think this is his 3rd knee surgery. I know he's had two now since being at MSU and if I'm not mistaken had one in high school.

Hate to lose Wallley but mostly good news. I see below that he has a concussion. I suspected that from the way he got rung up on those two plays.

Hate to lose Wallley but mostly good news. Do you know what Walley's injury is? I remember he got rung up two plays close together. Never heard what the injury is.

I would be willing to bet it's a knot on the head. I hope Mullen made a complaint to the sEC for the last hit.

Were they our refs? As much as we complain about ours, I'd have a hard time believing that was an SEC crew Saturday.

The idiot Williamson, who was the ref, is an SEC referee.

He's probably the worst ref in the conference

Yep, SEC crew. Ken "Wrong Way" Williamson. Turrible crew.

Yep, you would think Dez would be ready to throw in the towel at this point. That's 3 ACL tears in 4 years going back to his SR year in HS. Hate it for him, he looked like a really good LB prospect.

This is not a true statement. We're usually going to have an SEC crew. Other sports are different. In basketball, it's pretty much always the opposing teams conference.

I don't know why everyone is surprised at how bad our officials are. Let me say this as loud as I f*cking can:

SEC OFFICIALS ARE SOME OF THE WORST OF ANY CONFERENCES IN THE COUNTRY, IN EVERY SPORT. All other FBS conference probably have better officials, they pay to keep them, and they treat them well. While other conferences have decided that they want a higher quality product from their official, the SEC has not done this. Yes, the SEC pays well, but it just has no interest in getting good officials. Anytime someone questions them, they just point to the Refs track record, but this is irrelevant when they are the ones that gave them those games to begin with... This is just me trying to keep it simple without going into too much detail about the problem, but rest assured that game assigners from these other conferences have made real efforts to get the best officials by how good they actually are, while the SEC has been content with changing nothing.

I am a firm believer that the SEC is the best in almost everything they do, but officiating isn't one, and it's not even close. In basketball, the Horizon league and the Summit league, Big 12, you name it, they have better officials than the SEC.

Most of this is not opinion.

Yea but those Saturday were uncharacteristically terrible. They seemed like they did not have a clue what was going on the majority of the game

I disagree. The PAC 12 has the worst officials & I'm not sure it's close

As for the SEC, it depends on who you get

This guy is terrible

I know back in 2009 it was CUSA refs that screwed us over on the Tyson Lee beyond the LOS call when he wasn't beyond the LOS. But this past Saturday was definitely an SEC crew. Screwing up the correct 43 yard line when you've already taken 3 or 4 minutes to review the play on replay is BEYOND forgiveable. I mean at least when the ref crew gave Colorado the 5th down back in the day at least they didn't have 5 minutes to go talk about it and watch video footage to get it right.

Yea, I kind of hated when Steve Shaw left the actual games to be the SEC referee coordinator. I always thought he and his crew were good.

I don't know what it is about CUSA refs and replays, but there's a pattern there. I go to a lot of Memphis games, and when they were in CUSA prior to two years ago, the crews would consistently get replays horribly wrong. I mean plain as day stuff that was an obvious bad call in the first place, then clearly the wrong decision after the replay. It never favored either team, just the wrong call over and over again. I don't know if it was the quality of the video equipment combined with the ineptitude of the crew on the initial call on the field or what, but it gets bizarre when CUSA is involved.

Of course in that Houston game the blown call never even made it to a replay review which was as much on our coaching staff as the officials.

I seen it dawg

Dipshit said roughing the passer on both special teams roughing calls. Total moron. They stopped play way too much to talk about shit. Crew was total dogshit.

Hell I watched Donte Moncreif get screwed out of an onside kick last night. The replay clearly showed him getting the football, but instead they awarded it to Tom Brady instead. Hell the Patriots guy was just laying on the ball under his thigh. Never even placed a hand on it.

If I was Dan, I would complain about it. It's supposed to be a point of emphasis, and they review every targeting call, so it's easy to reverse an incorrect call.

Viewing the replay, it looks like the LaTech player's helmet caught Gus on the chin or face-mask.
