View Full Version : Predictable - Ole Miss fans trying to deflect this Saunders stuff on us.

You knew it was coming. When Ole Miss fans get their backs up against the wall, and have a hard time avoiding the facts coming out in the media, they eventually switch gears from delusional denying to attacking MSU hard and often in an attempt to deflect some attention away from them.

Now it's, "MSU has benefited from Saunders thing more than Ole Miss", "Y'all have/have had more Saunders-method players on your roster than we have!", "Y'all paid Saunders to do it for you". "Y'all gave Saunder's son a football scholarship at MSU as payola for the cheating he did for you", etc.

As far as I can tell, Riley Saunders was a walk-on at MSU, not a scholarship player, and left after the 2010 season to join his dad at ULL.

Another tactic is to rehash the Will Redmond situation, as they try desperately to get people to focus on us instead of them. Particularly lame is some are also trying to post again that insane BS about us, "Outing Cam Newton because he wouldn't accept our cash offer over the one he got from Auburn".

Y'all knew it was coming, didn't ya'?

Saunders worked at OM. He put the system in place there. They are spinning and deflecting as usual. Not gonna work this time.

Just remind them the only schools the NCAA notified that needed council present was ULL and Ole Missus

In regards to the Saunders situation two schools met with the NCAA - ULL and UNM. They can't deflect that.

Really Clark?

It's pretty simple. Link the response from ULL and the notice of allegations from the NCAA in the ULL case. Then note just a few things. 1. UNM was the only outside school involved in the interviews. Not us or any other school. 2. The first interview took place with Saunders and a student athlete in Dec 2013 was conducted by the enforcement staff and UNM council and ULL was requested to be present and they noted that the interviews were mainly about UNM. It was only the information learned in those interviews did ULL receive a notice of inquiry in Jan 2014. That is after the first interview that was pertaining allegations and the investigation at UNM. The subsequent issues discovered in the ULL case was only discovered because UNM is under investigation. Not us or any other school. Or else we would have been required to be at those interviews. 3. UNM have had a notice of inquiry for a while now. It does not have to be made public but the NCAA cannot conduct interviews on campus and talk with personnel without that notice of inquiry. The Letter of Inquiry stuff they keep spewing is a non issue. The NCAA no longer uses LOI. It's a notice of inquiry that can be given in writing or orally. But to conduct these interviews UNM had to already received the notice of inquiry.

Also, when they bring up the Chris Jones interview and try to spin it like the NCAA is also looking at us. Remind them, and link an article that states that when Chris was interviewed we were NOT present. The NCAA CANNOT interview him without our presence if the questions had any thing to do with us. We let it be known Chris was interviewed about his recruitment by UNM. He was questioned only because UNM is being investigated.

ETA. Why did Freeze come out on July 20 of this year with the information he still talks to Chris Jones? Was it because he knows at some point his phone logs will show calls made to that number, if the NCAA requested those logs. And what all about "life" is he talking to Chris about. Was the investigation ever brought up during those calls? May be completely innocent but why make it be known this summer in the media that he has had contact with Jones. May be its a leap but not a large one that we was covering his rear.

Chris Jones and Mullen did the right thing with making no comment about that situation. On the practical side it does our program no good to get into that anyway. But if they know any of those conversations had to do the investigation then they can't talk about it anyway while an investigation is ongoing. Maybe that's the case, maybe not.

The real question to ask is why Waynesboro and who was hepin the test proctor? The answer is simple, a certain family of UNM supporters that own a very large chain of convenience stores all throughout south Mississippi that just happen to be from Waynesboro. Follow the money.

Oh, I know all this stuff, and have already posted it. What you run up against is a relentless, dishonest attack by those morons. Many of them have no qualms about posting lie-after-lie. Some know they are lies, others just accept as gospel anything they read on those delusional UNM boards.

Remember, this is the bunch of idiots that includes one who actually said UNM has struggled in the SEC because their academic standards are so high it puts them at a disadvantage.

For my part, I enjoy a good, intelligent debate, but it's really hard to find one over there. The only UNM fans that could hold a decent conversation got run off by the DA's who fill the board with so much juvenile BS that it makes the board hard to enjoy. It's no challenge to outwit them, but you have to be willing to wade through an ocean of BS over and over and over.....

If the NCAA is in Waynesboro, they are getting close. Very close.

1. Denial: We've heard this one for years. Ever since Coach34 and others mentioned the investigation.
2. Anger: Now that it's out in the open, sure as shit here they come pointing fingers and accusing us of being the wrong-doers.
3. Bargaining: Nothing their fans can do here. That's up to their administration. They'll either live in step 2 for a longer period or go straight to step 4.
4. Depression: "I'm more of a basketball/baseball fan anyway." "Who cares about football anyway. Money has ruined college football." "You know other schools do the same thing. Why did they single us out?" Get ready to hear this and more from them.
5. Acceptance: "We're going to come back stronger than ever!" "Recruits still want to come to the Flagship!" "Well, I'm glad its over. Let's rebuild this from the ground up and we'll be even better!"

We already took our punishment for Redmond..... no need for them to try and bring that back up. The Cam Newton situation didn't link any of our coaches. The NCAA gives you a slap on the wrist unless a coach is involved. Once a coach is named, they go balls to the wall.

That and/or academic fraud and/or lying to investigators. They are going hard for those violations. Looks like they are 3 for 3. Sprinkle in other programs in the atheletic department and possibly multiple football programs under differing head coaches, lack of institutional control appears to headed that way possibly.

I still remember the picture my cousin had on Facebook of her with Powe. She was so proud. Her husbands family are the big UNM fans.

Weird thing is all her children attended Wayne Academy.

We have NEVER-- I repeat-- NEVER had a player take an ACT in Wayne Co. that would (or could) be tagged to this scandal. We are 100% innocent. FACT. End of story.
