Got down to the coast late Friday night. Actually went through a roadblock just south of Wiggins at 11:45 on 49. Got up early and we pulled up to the first stop at 7. Slowly picked at them and put 20 in the box. Then ran to some marsh in the bay and caught a couple undersized redfish. We went to the melini reef and it was slow. 3 more fish for the box and we moved back to the first spot now that we were going to get a touch of outgoing tide. Got 21 more for the box and headed back at 1. Was a mixed box of white trout, ground mullet, and big croaker.

Day 2 we went with the same plan but it was slower. We put 30 in the box of the same species plus a cpl puppy drum and a 20 inch speck.

Me and my brother headed back after Sunday afternoon but my dad stayed and out 15 more white trout in the box at the same spot from the previous 2 mornings.

We weren't picky about species. We just wanted fish fry filets. My strategy was find ledges in the bayous where there was a deep hole. Position on the shallow side of the hole. Throw market bait carolina rigged into the hole and drag it up the ledge. Somewhere on the ledge you'd get bit. At the marina there were a lot of slow reports with the slack tide so I was happy with the catch. Got a lot of visits at the cleaning tables asking questions.
