View Full Version : Too much talk about our running game....

Sometimes the simplest answer is the best.

1. Our O-line is much better at pass blocking than run blocking.

2. We have the best QB in school history.

3. We have the best collection of receivers in school history.

4. Our 2 toughest remaining games are against teams that are very, very good against the run.

It's pretty simple, Mullen needs to accept that this team is better suited to be pass oriented. I'm not saying abandon the run completely, but the dispersion needs to be about 65/35 pass to run. Dak is our best RB. He provides enough of a threat to keep the defense honest.

Don't keep pounding a square peg into a round hole!!! It's not about balance, it's about scoring points.

I agree! The nice part is every team we play have to spy on Dak and that leaves less guys to cover passes.

we can't rule out abandoning the run, until we completely vet all possibilities. At this point, we have no idea what we have in Dontavian Lee, the best RB on the roster. No. Clue.

We know what we have in Williams and that's a player much more productive than Shump. We know what we have in Holloway in an explosive player in spurts.

we need to FEATURE either Lee or Williams as our RB. Especially against the big boys. Someone made a good point about Shump blocking for Lee.

As for passing, we need to replace Brown with Gray. Against Bama, Brown will lose every contested ball & every ball will be contested. Gray will win some, but Brown won't win any vs Bama as they stack the line. #1, Ross, and Gray should be our starting WRs, yesterday.
