That's because teams have to bring safeties in the box to stop the run.

I'd like to see us take more shots deep as well, but it's important to understand that there is no defense that gives you the deep ball. The ability to throw deep is earned in other parts of the offense.

If just consistently wing it deep against deep, cover 2 shells, your interceptions will sky rocket.

While saying this, I do wish we would throw more interceptions. There is a manageable amount of interceptions that are OK and indicates that you are challenging the defense down the field. Sometimes QBs are so careful with the ball that defense just forces them into 6 yard pass plays all day and that team has trouble scoring. Andrew Luck is a great example of this. He throws interceptions, but it's because he's challenging the defense and the payoff is greater than the downside.
