Buy/Sell Bo Wallace gets hurt game 1 and UOM goes 4-8
Bo Wallace is coming off of shoulder surgery and he instigates way more contact than he should with his playing style leaving the very real possibility that he gets injured at some point. Ole Miss's backup QB just got busted for weed. They are 17ed if Wallace gets hurt. If Wallace goes down game 1 for the season do you buy or sell that Ole Miss doesn't finish with a better record than 4-8?

Wallace is going to take a helluva lot of hits in that portion of the schedule

Spoke to one of my customers, he is an Ortho Surgeon. Said the chances of Wallace ever being 100% with the kind of surgery he had is about 50/50. Doc said he thinks he will only be 80% at the start of the season.

Who knows, but that comes from an expert Orthopedic Surgeon.

It was a terrible post, but you're right.

I sarcastically apologized to a NAFOOMER in a thread over there saying "I apologize, I don't want you nafoomers to think I'm ruining your board".

Buy in bulk. One wrong hit on the shoulder and it's a 4-8 season for the bears.

Hopes are that they go 1-4 before the six game home streak. Morale will be very low and stomping by J-Football and the Tigahhs will cement that. At 1-6 there will be no point to attend, not when the real party is going on in the Grove. Top players lose respect for the reverend. They want to have a good time, why put the effort in at 1-6. Continued spiral. Bilema and his hard nosed style kicks the already dejected Bears. Troy spreads them out and picks them apart (see Texas vs OM 2012). So does Mizz and we finish them like in 2011. Bears back to 2-10. VHS will resemble this much of the autumn.

Those OM fans on SPS always claim that we're making it up whenever we hear ANYTHING negative about OM or when an OM fan tells us anything. My post was an example of what they would probably say to you over there in regards to your post. It was meant to be a joke, but it looks like I failed.

Maybe he is, but it isnt an unrealistic scenario. We've seen it happen to them before. When you are a program like UM thats got several prima donnas on board an implosion is inevitable.

This is far more likely than the 9-10 Ws some morons are predicting. I think they are a 5-6 win team depending on if they knock off one of @Vandy or @Auburn, but their schedule sets up to demoralize the players and fans if they get off to that 1-6 start.

Losing Wallace would cripple them- no doubt. But they do have some talent, and Spinetti could still get them 4-5 wins.

When Wallace goes down will also be a huge factor.

That Vandy game is really paramount to their season for alot of reasons

buy he gets hurt at some point this season. I bought it last year in the form that he would be hurt and wouldn't see the egg bowl... I was wrong about him playing through it though. He's a tough kid. Can take a punch.

sell they go 4-8.

Ranking their schedule from easiest win to hardest win:
SE Mizzu
Idaho
Troy
Mizzu
Arkansas
Auburn
Vandy
State
Texas
A&M
LSU
Bama

I draw their win/loss line somewhere between Arkansas and Texas, which means they could win between 4 and 8.

Not that I think you were wrong...just that it was a buy/sell. I thought you should have just made it an opinion post. But it's cool. At least you had the balls to say something negative about Ole Miss, which is more than I can say of most over there.

By the way, your post about "paragraphs" the other day drew quite a laugh.

I think his shoulder is less of a problem than most folks do ... however, I still don't see them as an 8 or 9 win season even if he's healthy .... but I also think they will come on strong the next couple of years, just about the same time line as ourselves

If they lose to Vandy, there's a decent chance they start the year out 2-5 or 1-6 depending on the Auburn game.

I don't see him making it past Alabama without significant time being given to the 2nd stringer.

Anyone want to give a really brief bit on their OL?

Unfortunately I also expect TR to also have to sit for at least a handful of quarters but I like our chances with Dak more so than anyone else they have by a long shot.

To be fair, DAWG61 likes to make really, really awful posts.

Locking the thread was preventative action - we were minutes away from the confederate goon squad coming out to defend Bucky & god's army.

Why's it a terrible post?
It's terrible because I wouldn't wish getting hurt on my worst enemy. I do consider them to be our worst enemy, but let's have some common decency here. I'm not going gay over OM like SPS, I'm just saying.

With that said, I do think he gets hurt at some point during the season. I don't know whether it will be the first game or the tenth game or if it will lead to them being 4-8, but I do feel they are in a precarious position at QB. Losing Wallace will hurt them tremendously.

I say soft sell. I think they will win 5 without him. I also have them at 7-5 this year with him so not much difference.

BeastMan
07-24-2013, 01:33 PM
There is a difference in being hurt and injured. I buy that Wallace will get hurt next year all day. He was hurt all of last year. The question is if he will miss time. Last year showed that he is tough as nails. It will take something truly bad to sideline him. If I was an OM fan, I wouldnt be worried about a guy going down. That line of thinking doesnt do any good for any fan base. I would worry more about him being able to effectively throw the ball 50x a game by seasons opening

I just think Bielema doesn't have the right players for his system yet. It's going to take him 3 years to have any kind of depth. Much easier transition for Malzahn than it is for Bielema whose is trying to change a Bobby Petrino depth chart (or what's left of it) into a Wisconsin style offense plus trying to completely overhaul a brutally terrible defense.

It won't be as bad as Chizik's attempt to switch offensive directions, but he will have some problems
