that's our offensive point production in our last 7 SEC games minus the 51 point outburst against a hapless Vandy team last year who was basically a glorified JUCO. That's not going to cut it folks. Complain about the defense and talk about how great of a QB we have but at the end of the day, in today's college football, if you don't score over 20 points then don't expect to win. By comparison when we opened up 4-0 in the SEC last year we scored 34, 48, 38 and 45 points. Quite the contrast. Listen, IF we couldn't run the ball and were indeed running an air raid putting up 40 points/game like some teams around the country I would be fully OK with it. However, right now we can't run the ball AND we aren't scoring and that is a losing combination.

Gotta open up the playbook and be more creative on O. We ought to be able to, since all of our starters are required to be 4 year players and make a 100 on the Playbook test.*

If they are really a playmaker, draw a play in the dirt and run it.*

That is magically pedestrian.

A few things about why this is so:

1. Offense isn't getting enough explosive plays. Even when we look great on offense right now, it's taking us 8+ plays to score. This is why we look outstanding on offense at times, but at the end of the game, you only see 17 points on the board. We've got take more shots down the field. It's why many NFL analysts are OK with QBs, like Andrew Luck, throwing interceptions. If your throwing interceptions by trying to stretch the defense in an intelligent way, then it's not always a terrible thing. We are trying so hard to not throw interceptions, that we are actually not taking the risks that it takes to hit big plays in the passing game.

2. Defense isn't getting off the field. The defense is keeping other teams from scoring much of the time, but is struggling to get off the field & give the offense those extra plays.

3. Turnovers. Dak hasn't thrown an interception, but we've been fumbling like we're holding a hot potato. Against A&M, we fumbled twice, once in the redzone, against USM we fumbled on the goal line, Against Alabama we threw 3 interceptions. This also plays into the fact that we aren't getting explosive plays & have to run 8+ plays to score. That leads to more turnovers.
