Blitzing question

Did anybody else notice that it seemed we sometimes sent blitzes from 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage?

Can anyone explain that? Would seem to have a very low chance of success

I don't know the specifics but more or less to disguise the coverage and give different looks to the QB for his pre snap reads I would think. Somewhat similar to showing blitz and having guys walked up and dropping back into coverage. Would be interested in knowing the answer as well.
