Baylor has 49 points at the half vs Texas Tech. Tech has 21 points, so 70 total points at the half. Will defense ever be important again in football? I don't really like this new age 70-80 points for one team in a game type of college football. I miss good defense.

How different would it be if football were 12 vs 12 instead of 11 v 11

Less open space, more defense right?

Yall realize we're a spread team and that would severely impact our success, right? Haha Take that away and we wouldn't have as good of a chance to compete with the upper teams in the SEC. I like defense as much as anybody, but until one of those spread teams wins a national championship, I'm not paying it much attention.

Big 12 is all offense with little to no defense, that's how it has been for several years now. Apparently it's about the same for Texas high schools

Agree. I like offense as much as the next guy, but it's tilted too far in one direction.

Ohio State is a spread team

True, I'd like to clarify it to Big 12 spread teams. Ohio state is more physical and runs the ball much more than the big 12 teams do.

Everything circles back around to the run game. If you can eat up the clock the high scoring games stops.
