As I said in the other thread, JJ is much more of a big play threat. Sean will bring more accuracy, but they will have to have long, sustained drives in order to score.

Random Asshole Theory - Some guy you never heard of comes off the bench and beats you.

Originated from a loss at South Carolina during the Sherrill years when we seemed to be winning comfortably and the back-up QB came in and started slinging it around while our pretty good pass defense shit the bed.

It was Erik Kimrey, coming in to replace an injured Phil Petty. On 4th and 10 from the State 25 yard line, Kimrey came in cold with no warm-up tosses and threw a perfect fade to Jermale Kelly for a TD. Kendall Roberson was defending, and if he turned around he could have batted it down. It was the only TD of Kimrey's college career.

That was in 2000, Jackie vs Lou Holtz. Carolina won 23-19.

I was on a flight layover that day in Memphis watching that. Been betting back and forth on random stuff with an Arkansas fan sitting next to me. When Petty went out the guy said "game is yours", and I laughed and said "you haven't watched State much have you - bet this back up throws a touchdown." Before he could even make me a wager, damn if he didn't throw that pass. I just shook my head.

Wow so it looks like Auburn has themselves a nice festering pile of Renardo Sidney in Duke Williams. JJ is playing the role of Elgin Bailey. Mutiny is in full force on the plains. Duke shouldn't of been starting game 1 after being suspended and missing 2 a days and now he gets beat up by the QB and it's the QB that gets benched not Duke Sidney. You guys are crazy if you think this limp dick is going to come in and dominate us. That offense doesn't have a clue how to operate if the QB can't move. Even in this age of college football, the majority of successful "prostyle" QBs might as well be classified as dual threat.

Yea but he can't run. Gus's offense without a mobile QB or Tre Mason at HB isn't nearly as scary imo. JJ most likely was going to burn us deep a couple times since we still can't defend against the 50 yard bomb. White will probably nitpick us up and down the field but atleast everything will be thrown in front of the defense and not over them.

Random Asshole Theory - In American Football (especially when playing Mississippi State), RAT applies to a rarely used player that comes off the bench and plays like an All-Pro and/or Heisman Trophy winner. This player will have a record breaking performance against the opponent (i.e. MSU) and then vanish back into obscurity on the bench the rest of the season. This week's RAT - Sean White, QB Auburn.

hmmmm.... small and white. The polar opposite of Johnson. he'll be no threat to run with average arm strength. But he probably is smart as heck and very accurate. This doesn't seem like a great fit for malzhans run offense. I like our chances even more now. Wonder what the line is going to do? Actually it was 4th and 10 from the 25, State leading 19-13, with 4:41 left in the game. I was hazy on the details but found a game recap and box score. I was sure it was Carolina and pretty sure it was '99 or 2000.
