Here is why that situation is totally screwed up from the beginning.
Now what we should have done and this should have been automatic, was run Dak off the warren to the middle of the field while picking up 3 yards. This should have been done as soon as we got to the line and were set, no motion needed.
Now, after the penalty our call was still terrible. Dak was only looking at Bear which isn't terrible except that he was lined up on the right side of the field and if we complete that pass out kickers are still having to hook the ball back!
So not only were we asking a guy that hasn't kicked a fg in 2 years to kick a 51 yarder, we were also asking him to kick it from the right hash either way. That is dumb! Dan didn't even think about that even though he went through two play clocks.
