On their schedule, they faced 3 true dual threat qb's (Dak, nick Marshall, and Malik Zaire of ND). Here's the combined stats between them...

Passing = 41/61 att. 571 yards 4 td. 0 int

Rushing = 60 att 333 yards 4 td

Really Clark?

Dont know how much that will translate to this year with the coaching changes. But according to Clemson people some of Steele's biggest problems the last few years at Clemson were dual threat QB. I know Conner Shaw had 100 yards in Steele's last year and his team gave up over 200 yards rushing to Wofford (272), Auburn (237), Maryland (291), GA Tech (383), and South Car (210). Also gave 182 to West Va in that beat down.

However in his defense, his first year at Clemson was actually pretty good and Clemson people also admit he lost a good bit of talent after that first year. So in year 1, he may be ok. One of the other really big knocks is he gets too complicated at times and likes to do like Saban and try to match the perfect defense for each offensive play call. But the calls and adjustments are too complex and the players don react, thinking about assignments too much. There were rumors that he got so flustered at the end he would call defenses that the players didn't know and was not ever part of their playbook and was close to a breakdown. The other really big negative and may be there is nothing to it but why did he go from the DC in 2007 for Saban to being demoted for 2008. Maybe nothing or it has been straightened out. But he definitely has a few major flaws in his resume above position coaching and recruiting. Of course we can say the same about Manny's time in Texas. But he did get the opportunity and was able to erase some of that stain with the job he did at La Tech.
