think ends up drafted this coming April? I'm going to go with Autry and Perkins

SEC defensive linemen are a premium and I believe Autry makes it happen this year. Perkins is the ideal NFL 3rd down RB and should slip in somewhere.

Russell and Skinner have more work to do, but still could make it happen for sure.

Autry is a lock. While the others could and probably will get drafted (esp. after the season I think we are going to have), I would only feel positive about Autry going highly.

Sup fellas!

I think with a strong year Whitley gets drafted late. Along with Autry, Perkins and obviously Gabe.

Jackson and Whitley are a given to be drafted- Whitley might slip into the 3rd-4th round

What you read Gabe is a 1st rounder. Autry is a lock and I think Russell, great arm which they look for in the Pros. Skinner will get drafted if nothing else special teams, not sure about Perkins

I think all but Skinner. Russell will get taken very late, but I think he'll get taken. He has the size and tools. Someone will take him as a project.

I think Russell get drafted 4th-5th round with a solid season.

I could see Autry going fairly early if he plays like he can, he seems like he has a tendency to take plays off- maybe not, just an observation.

Perkins will probably go late because of the perception he can't run between the tackles, could see him being a good addition to a team like the Patriots.

I don't get the love from the NFL Draft on Whitley, I've never really been that impressed with him. Yeah, he'll deliver a big hit every now and then, but he seems lost a lot.

Whitley def isn't a draft lock if he plays like he did last yr but if plays more like his Fresh/Soph yr he'll get picked up. I can see Russell getting picked up late, don't see Skinner getting drafted.

Thats great to hear about Whitley, I guess he must finally be back to his sophomore form, because last year he was a liability out there.

I think Russell is an undrafted free agent that gets a try at working through a scout team. His deep ball doesn't look great - maybe because we didn't deep threat WRs getting PT last year.

The NFL also looks for a guy who can throw a bullet on a deep out route across the strong side. No idea if Russell can do that or not.

Gabe - 1st or 2nd round
Nickoe - 4th
Autry - 4th
Russell - 6th
Perkins & Skinner - 7th or undrafted. RBs like Perk are a dime a dozen in the NFL. Skinner plays at least 5 years in the league I bet.
Siddoway gets a contract.

Whitley was confused as **** last year- that wont be happening this season as it was a point of contention this Spring. That is one of the reasons Melvin is no longer with us

I can see Russell as one of those guys that creeps up the draft boards once the season ends and he starts doing work outs and camps. He has a great skill set, he's smart, and he seems coachable....those things are highly looked upon by the NFL, and when you combine it with a great accurate arm, he should get drafted.

These are the things I simply fail to grasp because I only have a few connections to the staff, and I only see those guys during festivals or class reunions.

It seems that most of our problems on defense last year were coach related, which it seems we have fixed. I know I was a big fan of Wilson heading into last year, but it looks like I was too focused on his recruiting results versus his on the field ability.

Coach, I agree he looked confused. And I think Melvin was a poor on the field coach. But what does Melvin have to do w Whitley? He didn't coach him. Tony does.

Hope you're right. People get all excited because he makes one big hit a game and don't notice the plays he get caught in no-man's land and/or takes terrible angles.

Melvin got complacent an let things slide. His attention to detail slipped. We were confused during games on what coverages we were in at times- and Melvin is bearing the brunt of that. Collins made it a point to get all this ironed out this Spring so there is no confusion on the sidelines or in the Secondary during games

Judging Skinner when he was never at his true position puts him at a disadvantage. But luckily he will show the draft guys just how talented he is this year at his normal spot. If healthy he will overshadow every defensive player that will be a draftable player. Autry is no doubt a beast but in this leauge you can't speed rush every tackle you face. He doesn't use his hands well enough. He's got to make a quick glance at the OT 's feet/hips to know which move from his arsenal to use. Almost every time he goes inside he gets punched into the B gap & nothing happens (sack, pressure, TFL). And this happens because of him not properly knowing WHICH technique to use and then properly executing it. Autry is raw.....even still. But will get drafted.

Gabe is BY FAR the best player on our roster! Period!

exactly Coach- and it's this type of stuff that makes people say Turner is an upgrade from Wilson. Turner by most accounts is a better fundamental teacher- would you agree?

Turner is an interior DL specialist. Which normally consists of alot of what is referred to as "hand combat". Call me crazy but the use of the martial art Akido is a great teacher to these behemoths. It teaches them how to use momentum to create advantageous scenarios QUICKLY to induce pressure. I MIGHT'VE used this method a time or two whether in my old leather helmet days or as a teaching/training method.

I think the leading with the helmet rule hurt Whitley the most on our defense ... I also wondered if he was 100 % from the ACL (or Achillies) can't remember which

I thought Melvin coached CBs? Tony Hughes coaches safeties

That is correct- but relaying coverages during games was a problem

Here's my surprise draft pick -- Malcolm Johnson comes out early. I think he has huge year. Not sure if good enough to come out, but I was thinking outside the box

I'm pretty confident Autry, Perkins, and Russell all get drafted. NFL scouts will love to get a hand on Russell and his skill set in the later rounds
