How's his recovery coming? Has he been cleared for practice?

Great news. Really hope we use him more in the red zone this year.

Me too. I've been pissed at Mullen's lack of imagination with our offense. We saw a little bit of the wishbone in Mullen's 1st year and then nothing after that. Why can't we run that a little more in the red zone? Mix some shit up a little bit. The pass to the TE that Dak threw against Tennessee was perfect. Run the option when Dak comes in, not when Tyler is in there. We have to get aggressive on offense.

Mullen isn't going to mix it up. He has never had 2 offenses for 2 QBs. He'll change his play calling based on the QB, but it will mostly be the same offense.

I'm sure he'll run the poor man's version of Leak and Tebow like he did last year, but I really hope that he gives Dak some more plays to catch the defense off guard.

I also hope that if Tyler has a game like he did against Northwestern that he will put Dak in to try and give us an offensive spark.

I cringe every time Tyler tucks the ball to run. I get the whole scheme of keeping the defense off balance, but we don't have the depth to be playing with fire.

I agree, and it doesn't fool anybody. Tyler ain't beating anybody with his running ability.

Without looking, and if you don't count sacks, I bet Tyler has 5-7 yards per carry.

You're probably right. He did break some big runs, but all it takes is one good hit to become paper thin at QB. I really don't want to think about a backup being a true freshman reguardless of talent level.

Were the 5-7 yards worth the devastating hits he took at the end of it seems every run?

Yeah, he has had some pretty good carries here and there. His problem with movement comes in the pocket.

Tyler was sacked 18 times for a -125...he rushed 25 times for 120 yards 4.9 ypc...long run of 20 yards

43 total carries... -5 net

There you go. 5 ypc.

Tyler didn't get hit much running either. Not like he did when he was getting sacked.

Tyler is no Relf. But it's not like he can't run.

Bullshit Flab. Leake and Tebow ran two different offenses. I personally hope that Dak starts the USCe game and only comes out if we get way behind. The only way we stop Clowney is to run the read at him the whole game.

Leake and Tebow was what we've already seen with Tyler and Dak. The bigger QB was just a short yardage QB.

I think Flab meant they'd both run the spread option, like Leake and Tebow did. They just had a different play sheet out if the same offensive sets. So Dak wouldn't run a wishbone only and Tyler run the spread option. Not that I see Dak as a good wishbone QB. I think the spread option fits him better.
