I had never seen him play until tonight. Wow, he looks great. I would really hate to lose him to Bama.

I'm watching as well and Brown has some Dez Bryant/Justin Blackmon in him. He's got enormous meat hooks for hands and plays physical. Must get

Brown is more physical than Metcalf, but have not seen enough of Metcalf to say who is better yet.

He's a 2 sport guy. We have to sell him on baseball as well, but he's ours to lose.

He's not at the top of their board. They have a few guys ahead. Not saying they wouldn't accept his commitment but they're not pushing for it.

Just flipped it on and saw him have a nice run after screen pass. All I need to see. He's solid. Seal the deal.

Well... It's official, DK Metcalf got alligator arms.

Looks like once big softie leaves for the NFL, there will be a new big softie.

Brown mucho better than Metcalf

Brown has 192 yards. Oxford has 119. Metcalf has 2 catches for -4 yards.

First time seeing him play he actually reminded me a lot of Treadwell. Same number, same body type, not overly fast, but great feel for the game and ball skills. Just smooth. Oh, and he's devastating in the screen game...

Let's say he looks like Dez Bryant instead. We need to do whatever it takes to keep him in Starkville. Kobe Jones looks really good to me as well. Noxubee must be damn good to have beat the Jackets last week.

AJ Brown is very good and we better not let him out of Starkville.... really would hate to lose a guy of that caliber out of our own backyard

DK Metcalf is not as good as Brown but has the size and ability to become very good one day... Hate he will be at Ole Miss

Really enjoyed watching two D-1 guys go head to head with each other tonight when Oxford put Metcalf at corner to cover Brown...

And for the fellas talking about Newton County, I was at the game tonight.... Won big but the coaching is pitiful.... Got some talent at spots but the play calling is miserable and they do not spell any of the starters so at halftime they are gassed.... we were up 35-7 in the 3rd quarter and had already had multiple injuries but every starter was still in the game... They don't get the concept of "fresh legs" or depth... Hope they can get it together and have a good year

What didn't you like about the refereeing?

Maybe it's not the officials' faults, per se. I've probably just been spoiled by instant replay, and those guys aren't used to national TV.

But a couple of blown pass interference calls, late hit calls, and the Starkville fumble at the goal line. Avery Brown's forward progress was stopped but no replay so I get the call. Also, the Oxford play that was blown dead when really the whistle had been blown to resume play. Couple of other nitpick things, but it is what it is at that level.

He's only 6'1". Yes he is able to physically dominate in HS football. Not sure that's going to translate to the next level. Kind of reminds me of a slightly bigger chad bumphis. I can see the quick outs and across the middle looks but I didn't really see him as a true deep threat type receiver. But you are right in the sense that he probably isn't a slot guy either. But even guys like Dez and Calvin Johnson line up in the slot position at times. Nothing wrong with a bigger, strong guy running from there

ETA- he is ready to step on the field and contribute immediately imo

Dez Bryant is listed 6'2 220, AJ is listed 6'1 220. Dez has a broad frame & plays much bigger than his ht/wt. I think the comparison being made to AJ is based on the physicality they play with, which certainly translates to the next level, even if his current size advantage doesn't.

And Dez does line up at the slot some too. Look I'm not saying he is a slot receiver. But he has great hands. I just don't see him stretching the field. That's all. Kid is physical, no doubt. Ready to play immediately. We need him

He looks so much like Treadwell, almost a clone. Same size and body type, they both move the same, not explosive but smooth. Same big hands. Not nearly as polished but he'll get that later. Wearing 1 probably makes them look even more the same, though.
This is a very important recruit, we need to go all out to get him. Don't want to lose a Starkville guy who is this good. I can see him getting a 5th star on at least one or two services.

Either you have never seen Aj or you have never seen bumphis play, or you know nothing about football if you compare Aj to bump. There is not one single thing that makes them comparable......ok, one, they are both African American....sorry, two, they both play in Mississippi. Other than that....you lost me
