They just stomped Arkansas-Pine Bluff in straight sets. Next game tonight at 7:00.

Nice first outing for Coach Fatch. I know that beating UAPB shouldn't be that big of a deal,
Hazelwood might have beaten them too, but previous teams would have struggled. This team
make it look pretty easy.

I'm not delusional enough to think that we're going to dominate the conference. I'm just saying it was a good first outing, and things seem to be already improved from the Hazelwood era.

I went to the ULM match. Team really looked good- they were in sync and cohesive. Played with confidence.

ETA: Just browsed through last year's results. two things stood out:
ULM swept us last year, and we swept them last night.
Our 2 sweeps yesterday matched last season's total of sweeps.

As DanDority said, SEC schedule will tell the tale, but this looks like real improvement.

I was told by someone that knows the college volleyball scene really really well that McFatrich was a home run hire for 3 reasons:
1. He is a proven great coach
2. He understands recruiting in a state with no significant high school volleyball (described as the critical factor)
3. He is happy as a clam being in the SEC. We are not a stepping stone to anywhere.

What is up with soccer? It seemed like a good hire at the time and I thought recruiting was picking up (including some good transfers)... Are we 0-fer so far this season. Anybody know what the story is with that team?

I agree, this does sound positive. Sweeping a team or program who swept us last year is very positive.
