Ok so my wife has arranged for her sister to keep the new baby and we are all set to go to the LSU game. But my wife is still nursing and we are not going to be able to walk back to the car throughout the day for her to pump, so I was hoping to get some input from anyone else who may have dealt with this. How have you and your wife approached this? Is there a good place on campus that she could go? Any input would be appreciated.

I can't really help you as I will be nursing a great buzz that night.

She can come to my tailgate. I helped my wife some, so I'm practically an experienced professional in milking women. I promise to look only above the shoulders and below the belly button.

On a serious note, kudos to our wife for trying to figure out how to get to a game and pump. No chance my wife would've even considered it.

That would make you a Lactation specialist I presume?

My wife and I ran into this issue 2 years ago. She just needs to pump prior to going in the stadium. When its time to feed, go to the concession stand ask for hot water so you can get the temp right. It was actually very easy for us and we did it during half time.

The baby will not be with us, but she will still need to pump because of the pressure build up (or something like that). And my wife will be drinking, so she will just be disposing of the milk after she pumps. My question is about the best place for her to actually do the pumping throughout the day.

On a serious note, my wife's pump had a battery that could be charged.

Does she have a portable pump? Or will she need to plug it in? Maybe the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Union?

It may be worth asking some of the gameday attendants if there is a designated breastfeeding/pumping area in the stadium. It may also be worth asking on Twitter to the HailState Ops (https://twitter.com/HailStateOps) twitter feed what they might recommend, as well? They answered me when I had a LFL question back during bb season.

I only see three options.

1. don't go to the game
2. start using store bought powder.
3. Just let the milk build up. This one might get painful.

If you're just going to throw the milk away, the answer is really simple. You need to suck that milk out. She is breast feeding your baby and so dedicated to MSU football that she's willing to go through this inconvenient process you've described....so why don't you sack up and suck it out. Whether you swallow or not is up to you - probably depends on what she does when it's downtown time. But I hear if she eats some candy a few hours before that milk is so sweet you won't be able to get enough!

Depending on where you are tailgating, certain buildings are open, and she can go inside the womens restroom and pump there. Just go inside and ask you would be surprised at the decency and sympathy your wife will get. You can also email the AD office and I bet they could give you a list of places to go. I have a son that is highly allergic and the AD office provides tons of info that is both beneficial and sympathetic to my demands. Thumbs up on the natural milk selection for your kid!

Haha, the issue has never been how to handle it.....it has been where to handle it. She is going to pump, we were just wondering if anyone knew of a good place for her to do it.

do they have power outlets? as others have mentioned I would email the university, I'm sure they would be more than accommodating.

The department of dairy science has some of those big automatic milkers. They might could help you out.

If you get drunk enough, you won't mind lifting up her shirt, throwing a towel over the back of your head and going to work.

If you really need some privacy, go into a nearby building, go into the men's bathroom and take her with you (people won't get upset in the men's bathroom if a dude is sucking on boobies in the stall). You'll probably work her up pretty good while you're in there and get some strange place action. The whole experience will end up blowing your mind and you'll dream about it for a while.
