Great write up! I noticed you didn't mention B.J. Hammond with the TE's, are we not expecting him to pan out at this point?

Considering JJ has come in as a true frosh and moved ahead of him, I don't see Hammond being a factor. His only chance is to move ahead of Hutcherson.

Malone is the LG and Desper the RG
J. Johnson RS'ed last year and has now found a home backing up Clayborn

Didn't realize Malone and Desper had switched. I'll make the change. I thought Joc redshirted, but I wasn't sure, so I said he played. Thanks for clearing it up.

I think it's a good thing in the long run. Basically Warren has stepped up and become a beast. And now we can ease in Rankin without wasting half a year for him getting up to speed. So we'll have two years of Rankin at OT instead of one. It'll help us keep our OL classes balanced and improve depth.

Its awesome

Means he cant take the job from Warren or Senior. So why play him 200 snaps this year as a back-up when he could have 2 years to start and play a 1000 plays each year? At some point people are going to wake up to the fact that we are a talented football team.

Malone played LG all last year the depth chart just had it wrong. The 2 games Desper started were at RG & Beckwith was moved over to LG.

I'm looking forward to this season. A red zone package with Wilson and Morrow on the outside, Ross in the slot, and Walley or Hutcherson at TE will be hard for any defense to stop. I hope that Gray can take the top of coverages. I hope that Dear and Myles can emulate Harvin in our offense eventually

****Yeah, but then Mcorvey will line up the power-I instead, think about calling an audible, not actually call it, then run up the middle for a loss....****

Hot damn how far we've come. Dak is gonna go off this year, not just because of his own ability, but because of the talent level around him. I'm looking forward to making all the Danny Kanel's and SDS "journalists" of the world look like clown-fools this year.

I think Justin Johnson is going to be a huge surprise at TE for a lot of our fans this season. 6'3" and 230. Hate to compare him to a Northern Miss player, but that's the exact same size as Engram. I think he'll win the TE2 spot over Hutcherson if he can block. And we all know what he can do once he catches it. See the MS-AL HS ASG.

It's a shame to waste that 6'7" frame. Why hasn't he caught on?

I would assume he can't handle it mentally. Classic case of "Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane." It sucks, but the SEC exposes the players from the pretenders. It appears Hutch is a pretender.

I'm just shocked you have not been scolded yet for including in your piece that dak looks noticeably leaner.

Indeed. Probably because I didn't get into the pissing match about whether or not he's "lost weight." I simply made the point that he's changed the way his body is composed, but that it's a positive change that should allow him to be even more productive.
