This is network worthy. Had to have been comprised by a 2013 grad of MSU. No way the University of Northern Miss' town wasn't listed #1 in every category. I mean all the national publications say so. How could a Mississippi magazine get it all wrong like this?

Those lists are always pretty terrible. Listing Jackson Country Club as a top 5 gold course in Mississippi? It's well kept up and is a very good course considering its age, but it's not top 5 and that should have been glaring to anybody that put together the list.

And two sea food restaurants from the coast, and one of them is halfshell? I like Halfshell but it's not in the top three places for sea food on the coast even if you take price into account. If you don't take price into account, it's not in the top six.

I will say that there seemed to be fewer glaring problems than usual with that list.

oxford might as well shut down their town. Starkville and the golden triangle is leaving them in the dust.

Seriously though, it is amazing what the media can accomplish.

Add to the list - Chef Scott's in Ocean Springs for best sushi. Hands down.

I like Chef Scott's but Jia and Tien both have better sushi. Sucks because I hate eating in a casino when I'm on the coast so I rarely go there, but they do have the best sushi.

I think it's hilarious that their best "Fine Dining" restaurant in Mississippi is named "Walker's Drive-In".

...and yes, I realize it's not really a drive through, and I looked at the menu and it looks fantastic (around $30 a plate for an entree).
But still, that right there is funny.

Walkers is a wonderful place to eat, but not fine dining. Revolution Seafood would be the top place in Mississippi for fine dining. No other even comes close.

I would agree about Walkers. Seafood Revolution. Have you eaten there? Everyone says it's real good but the very next thing they say is how expensive it is. It's just down the street from where I work at The Township. Just curious if worth checking out during lunch.

The rest of the country just hears that and says "well, that figures"

Way, way too much credit for Revolution Seafood. It's good, but if you're focusing on the food, there are plenty of places in MS that are comparable. If you're focusing on the atmosphere, while they did a great job with the interior, it's still in a glorified strip mall. It's one of the top fine dining restaurants in MS, but depending on what you're looking for, there are plenty of comparable restaurants.

I would add the Inn on Whitworth in Brookhaven

And Memphis BBQ Company in Horn Lake. Sorry, if it's blasphemy but while I like the setting at Lil' Dooey's, I've never been impressed with the BBQ. I despaired until I found Pettys!
