nice article ... the primer to all this was Greg Byrne doing the job he was hired to do. And I think it was a pretty good move to find someone that didn't by into that "poor old Miss. State" mentality - I don't remember any head coach @ State with that kind of energy & drive

Good article, MSOM. I find it interesting when Ole Siss fans bring up the fact that CHF is 2-1 in EB. Well CDM is 4-2 & about to be 5-2 since home field advan has the most to do with that game (14 of last 16yrs). At any rate, the argument that CHF "owns Mullen & State" is the most ludicrous I've ever heard. Couldn't be further from the truth! In fact, CHF has never won in Starkville. CDM won in Oxpatch in 2010. The delusion is real with them.

Did Greg fly to Gainesville to meet with Mullen? I was under the impression that they met at a hotel in Atlanta, and Scott was there as well. Apparently Mullen had done his homework, laid out a full plan of what he would do and how he would succeed at state, and absolutely blew them away in the interview. Our administration left that interview knowing he was the guy

Yep, that was the story reported and told by the Ninja. It was during SECCG week. Mullen listened, went and researched the area, talked to Megan and decided to take the job sight unseen.
