This guy is really blowing up. I'm guessing we will get him if we want him (and it seems we do). He has picked up offers from some bigger basketball schools and has lit up the circuit scoring the ball. Another reason this basketball class seems like it could be historic.

Been told he is the best shooter in the State, shoots the three better than Newman. Was told he won the HS 3-point contest for Mississippi.

A scout recently said to Gene that he expects Carter to be a four star, top 100 type player.

Tyson is the prototypical combo guard. Can handle & pass well enough to be a point but is big enough & can stroke it well enough to play the 2. Tyson's biggest thing he needs to work on is getting bigger & stronger. He's really frail right now but he's exploded this summer & has made himself a heck of a ball player.

Well - he already is a ranked 115 by 247 and is a 4-star. At least one website can recognize talent.

So will he come in the year after Newman? Howland is already kicking ass and I love it. I used to love going to the Hump when it was rocking.

Yes. 2016 class. I expect Cameron Lard to commit sometime in the next month too.

We could end up with Mustapha Heron & Schnider Herard & be just as good maybe better.

We've been in his top 3 for a couple of months. Other teams have changed in his recruitment but we've remained steady.

I can see why Banks & Herard is probably an either/or situation for the 5 spot; Is Heron & Kegler also an either/or situation or could they play together?

I think they could but I don't think the odds of getting both are great.

Peters, Carter, Kegler, Herron, Herard & Lard put us at 50.41 which would have been 6th last year on 24/7

I remember reading not long ago that Heron was probable to St Johns to join his friend(Name escapes me) Do we have a realistic chance with him?

A lot people consider St John's the favorite but his friend, Rawle Akins, isn't a lock to St. John's & he's not deciding til the spring. Heron is signing in the fall. Most people consider St John's the favorite because their asst coach is an old teammate of his dads. He was also an asst at Pitt where Heron was committed to.

Tyson Carter played well in Milwaukee last week, per @BSnowScout. He's at it again. 6-3 skilled & can make shots. High-majors take notice.

If it was me, I'd take Carter over Crowfield right now. It seems like Carter has a better handle and can do more things offensively- create his own shot, create shots for others, drive to the basket, etc. Crowfield seems like more of a spot up jump shooter at the moment. Crowfield is bigger and probably a better defender than Carter, but if Heron wants to come, I don't know if we really have room for all three. My ideal class:

Peters
Heron
Carter
Kegler
Lard
Herard/Banks

If Heron doesn't come, take Crowfield. And I also would like to see if we could squeeze one more big in the class other than Lard and Herard/Banks.

Crowfield is just a winner. He doesn't do anything great but does everything good. He actually reminds me a lot of Q Weatherspoon.

For a guy who coaches our football team, you sure know alot about basketball & recruiting in particular, as well. Who knew!
