Spieth with a poor 2nd at 17. Got work to do to save Par

I'm thinking of buying a summer home at St. Andrews. The weather there is just beautiful all year.

I mean if you don't like the weather, just wait about 10 minutes.

Jordan needs to make birdie at 18 to join the playoff group

Same for Jason Day

He looked crushed that the par putt on 17 didn't fall.

@TheRef: How'd you like to be a local forecaster for somewhere with that much uncertainty in weather patterns?

It's as difficult of a forecast to nail as possible. But, the UK has a better weather system than the US. MetOffice is one of the best in the world.

That 17th hole is just a monster.

Both Spieth and Day have a chance. All about nerves here

What's the playoff format for this event?

I believe replay the 18th. They haven't gone over the playoff rules yet which is strange.

Spieth is done in all likely hood. Didn't get it past the hole

Didn't help that the gallery behind him wouldn't shut the 17 up

Had to yell at them 4-5 times just for them to stop.

Yep, if Speith couldn't win it I'm at least glad another American did.

Funny thing is they hardly showed Zach Johnson in The Open coverage. It was exciting to have so many players, including amateurs, in contention. I prefer an Open that ends closer to par, but it was fun.

Happy for Zach. He is one of the stable of guys based out of Sea Island. Does some good local charity stuff with Davis Love III that I have attended a couple of times.

They did earlier. He finished 2 hours before everyone else. He put -15 in the books while everyone else had nine holes left. Fantastic tournament! ESPN really did a terrific job this year. I enjoy Azinger's commentary. He's better than Johnny Miller's pompous ass.

Of course following the FOX coverage of the US Open pretty much any decent coverage would appear to be pretty terrific.

St. Andrews has to be the baddest ass course in the world. What an awesome event that was.

Missed Monday but watched most of Thursday, Friday, Sat and Sunday. They were focused on Dustin. Hardly saw the other Johnson, the one who ended up winning.

Yea that's cause he went crazy low on Monday. Think he shot a 66 on the final day. ESPN had no time to show anyone really because there was something like 25 guys within four shots of the lead. It really was the best Open I've ever seen. So many guys did awesome including FOUR amateurs that finished top 30. You never see that. I do believe ESPN learned something from Fox's coverage. They actually invested many hours of coverage into the event. We were able to watch over 32 hours of live coverage. That is unprecedented. To be able to watch the entire tournament makes them so much more entertaining.
