for the 1st time since Bobby Jones, an amateur leads after 54 holes. it's Paul Dunne from Ireland that I think may have graduated from UAB and his college coach caddies for him.

tiger missed the cut by 7 strokes. (Jack's record safe) Daly missed it by one.

if Spieth at age 21 can somehow pull off another win here, he may be the next to challenge Jack's record. It may be an indicator that he has what it takes to get to 14 faster than tiger did. as time moves on though, the field just seems to get tougher and tougher which could be the reason Jack's record stays forever.

The Dunne story is an interesting one. I hope he doesn't implode tomorrow.

Spieth is the real story though. If he doesn't 3 put 5 holes in the 2nd round then he is the runaway leader right now. We'll see if he can pull it off.

DJ- bigger meltdown down than the U.S. Open .. He may have to shoot an all time major low tomorrow (62) and that still may not be enough..

Dunne- won't sleep , might throw up on the practice green and won't go lower than 76 tomorrow

Tiger - forget Jack's record not only will he not win another major, he won't compete for many.. Way too many good players right now .. And he is too big of a POS to get help...

Rory- has to be the most upset right now.. He dominated this course few years back he would easily be at -15 by now as easy as The course is playing and the weather this year ..

If Jason Day doesn't get vertigo tonight he will win his first major..

That's the stat of the tourney right there.
