Anybody here go to Perk (MGCCC) prior to MSU?

If so, did you ever do the tubing we used to do once-in-a-while? Trying to recall the name of the place we used to do it. Just remember a bunch of us would get big tire inner-tubes, LOTS of beer, and just float downstream for what seemed like miles.

Class of '77. I think the river is the Big Biloxi. We would canoe it. Put in on hwy 26 and end just past 49 at Perk Beach. Stone cty at that time was dry so you had to go to Lotts for the beer. I was well versed in traveling for my beer when I got to State.

The river is Red Creek.

Was it north or south of perk? South on 49..about 1 mile from campus is perk beach/red creek...north on 49 about halfway to Hattiesburg is black creek

Anybody ever floated the Bogue Chitto?

Herring's Hide-away was one in MS, but it was more family friendly than the Bogue Chitto. BC was fun, until a girl jumped the cliff and didn't make the water. I was actually there when the girl hit the bank... very randomly, as I've only been 4-5 times ever, but it was brutal. I think it died down after that and they curtailed the cliff the jumping.

Probably was Red Creek. I only went to Perk my freshman year, but remember having some fun floating that creek with my friends.
