The sign said "It's coming" in the beginning, and as the days went by the signs would get more intense and insinuate that whatever "IT" was was getting closer: "It'll be here in no time", "It's just a few miles away.",etc. etc...Then one day the town woke up to see a sign that said "It's gone."

It's one of those "you have to hear it for it to be funny" things, but that's exactly how I see this playing out. That is if Coach has actually been on the receiving end of a good rumor.
