Don't be surprised if another school gets involved...

You referring to UGA, they've been pissed over this purchase for years......

I don't see an SEC coach outright ratting on another SEC program.

I don't see an SEC coach outright ratting on another SEC program.

I think that is exactly what Slive told the whole conference football staffs. Rat on each other and it goes into file 13. Slive's rule wouldn't do a thing in this case though. The national media got ahold of it before it could be contained.

I'd like to think that OM will be made an example of since this may be the chance for the NCAA to prove it isn't as dead as the Miami debacle indicated. I'd also like to think that southern Cal and North Carolina, and other schools that were kicked in the teeth will demand the ncaa give equal treatment. What gives me pause is that there is very little room the Ncaa actually has to 'follow the money' because subpoena power just doesn't exist. I do think they will be able to tell Tunsil to turn over the information of how you afforded all the things you have or sit out ineligible until you do (remember Reynardo Sidney?).

In the end this all comes down to how much credible evidence the stepfather and the Tunsil's turn over or are forced to turn over on the other players from that 2013 class as to whether OM gets hit hard. They may shut up and this all ends with a season suspension of Tunsil. But if not, OM burns.

And in light of all that is going on politically with old south symbols, OM seems to be a target that the NCAA might not look so bad going after. The nation had little problem with the pounding the NCAA gave Penn State because they were universally considered corrupt. OM might appear this way if the right stories (like nooses around statues necks) come out as a part of the coverage of this all.

I want our boosters to get together and do one thing: Find a national reporter and pay them to do a tell all on this whole mess with all the juicy stories compiled since 'Meat Market' came out.

I'd say it would make for some pretty interesting reading for college football fans nationally that would like to see an SEC school that represents the Confederacy get a kick in the ass.

It's why Jackie was so easily vilified. The nation already believed he was a villain.

Well guess what Ole Miss? You wanted the spotlight?

You got it.

I recall UGA's president at that time was pretty pissed about Tunsil. I believe he left UGA shortly after and joined the NCAA so I'm sure he's had some influence at some point in this process.

Oh ... really?

That's bad news for the Bears.

Yep, you are all over it.......this UGA guy has an axe to grind and he's no longer at UGA.

The smoke was their as was the NCAA, they've been in and around Oxford for months........this has all blown up at an especially inopportune time......unless you're the NCAA, then the timing was perfect

He is at Pepperdine now. He's got no love for UGA with the way he butted heads with boosters and the foundation. I think he is a non-factor. If UGA was to go in, I think it would be via their athletic dept/compliance staff.

They still don't realize the way the rest of the country views them and their racist past. They are completely blind to it. Maybe this will give the NCAA a chance to come down on them hard without anybody feeling sorry for them.

I still think this ends up a lot like the Will Redmond situation. The NCAA will screw this up like they do most everything else.

At this point it may not matter much who jumps into the fray. Genie appears to be well outside the bottle.

I don't think this is being talked about anywhere outside of Mississippi. I saw a blurb on ESPN.com yesterday but that's the only mention I've seen of it, and it was three or four sentences. It hasn't been mentioned even on sportstalk radio yet, nor have I seen it on Sportscenter or PTI. Maybe I missed it, but it's certainly not drawing much attention. Yet.

I guess they are forgetting that Finebaum has a national audience now. Here are a few more for them to thumb through (all outside of MS) because I know they are avid readers.

I would be surprised if the former UGA Prez didn't let his frustrations be known prior to joining Pepperdine.

Dr Adams is/was on the NCAA Executive Committee. He still lives in Athens and helps the University as an Emeritus President. Fundraising as what not. Damon Evans, the previous AD, who got caught driving under the influence with a young girl (not his wife) has gotten a second chance at Maryland.

Dr Adams was basically the Athletic Director as well as the President. He has a bad case of Tunsilitis. That is an itch that he wants to scratch.

The EXTRA bad part of this (or good depending on your alliance) is there is ZERO going on in sports news right now. There are outlets picking this up who might not ordinarily. The denial and message redirect above is as desperate as it comes. This could not have happened at a worse time of year for them and they know it.
