Damn, it feels good to have a coach that can actually sell that he knows how to get players to the NBA. I've seen the argument before that "anyone could get UCLA talent to the league"- that may or may not have some merit, but it sure is a plus for perception on the recruiting trail when you can legitimately use the pro developer card and point to a long list of NBA players. Coaching 20+ NBA players immediately gives you a huge leg up on just about everyone you recruit against, outside of the blue bloods.

"Coach (Ben) Howland seems like he's a great coach and he's put a great number of players in the NBA and they're still competing in the NBA. I think he can help me achieve my dreams of becoming an NBA player."

"I want to come in and learn a lot of stuff from Coach Howland. I know he has put 24 players in the NBA and has put a lot of good point guards in the league, too. So that played a big part in my commitment to Mississippi State, knowing how he can help me."
