Defensive tackle?

Or next Reggie White. One can hope.

I will say, at least he's 6'6"-6'7".

Homedawg
07-09-2013, 10:42 PM
Well the good news is he lost 4 lbs since super bulldog weekend! As todd says. At least he's 6'7. Everyone wants him to be an end. But in a year if he holds 320 he'll be tackle. And a damn good one. Just like kimkardeche will be in oxford. He might be ok at 290 at end. We'll find out.

I seen it dawg

Monster

He could be 310 and still athletic enough to play DE. He plays too high to put him at DT imo. They'd better keep the weight off of him.

325 lb TE.

Coach34
07-09-2013, 11:03 PM
He's too tall to be a DT

He is 18 years old and needs to mature. We arent counting on him heavily anyway. I look for him to play more as the season goes on- but will be surprised if he makes any big impact. Lots of talent ahead of him with more experience

msstate7
07-09-2013, 11:08 PM
Oh dear no

I doubt it too, but if he keeps gaining weight at 6'7" where do you play him? There's worse things than having a super athletic left tackle

That's a pretty harsh comparison when jones hasn't even played for us yet.

Quay lost 40 lbs in 6 months. Chris will be much lighter by kickoff

But in all seriousness he hasn't gone through one Balis workout, I'm not worried (yet)

So if Jones is headed for the O-Line, Tunsil must be headed for the stockyard

The only article I see is him reporting in at 320 lbs and benching 390. If he is 390 it will take him a year just to lose the weight and get in shape.

Exactly. Once that workout regimen takes over, he'll be fine. Probably has at least ten pounds of baby fat he'll lose in no time.

He was playing basketball not too long ago, so his conditioning shouldn't be as bad as Quay and Nick's were.. I would assume..

It's an adjustment for all freshmen. Even marathon runners would have a tough time adjusting if they went into basic training for the Marines. It's different and harder than anything they've ever done.

I don't think we ever have to worry about Jones "getting fat". The only issue with him is that he's going to gain weight as he lifts, matures, and increases his muscle mass. 20 pounds on a 6'7" guy is nothing, but I hope e hat doesn't grow to be 325 naturally and have to slide inside.

Pump the brakes guys..
he is 6'7 295 and only 18...
he will be down to the 280-285 range by the fall..

In comparison Mr Clowney is about 6'6 275-280.. and we all see how that is working out..

I can't wait to my bear co-worker this, I keep hearing Tunsil this and Tunsil that, the fact that he is at 390 gives him no chance to help the bears this year. None.

Maybe so. However he's just 18 like u said and could put on 25 lbs of muscle wp much trouble too. Not saying he's going to be a dt but its possible. Also The comparision to clowney isn't a good one except in height. He checked in his fr year at 250, not 296

I know you guys were hoping Jones wouldnt make it- but he did. I dont know if the Clearinghouse has finalized it yet- but it's only a matter of a short time before they do
