Gonna be in Mobile this coming Sunday, the 5th. Looking for good advice on local dining. Also thinking I may be in the Theodore area Monday around lunch time if there are any suggestions for there. Any info would be appreciated thanks

There was once a place called Pier 17 or something similar on Mobile Bay that had great food and service. Might want to give it a look. But it was a couple of decades ago when we patronized the area.

The Brick Pit is a neat BBQ place. New & old sports photos & autographs everywhere. Owner can tell you about the time he catered a NASCAR pit and got put on pit crew duty.

But I'll also rec Dumbwaiter downtown. Really good new spot. Call for a reservation. You won't be disappointed.

If you're in the Theodore area, check out the fried crab claws and West Indies Salad at Bayley's. I wouldn't stray too far from those two choices though.

Agree with the first two. Haven't been to 1/2.

Pier 17 has been Felix's Fish Camp for several years. It is on Battleship Parkway right on the water overlooking Mobile Bay. We eat there 2 or 3 times a year on the way to and from Destin. The seafood, service, atmosphere and price/value are all outstanding. Better price/value than any restaurant in Destin or any other restaurant we have found on the entire gulf coast ( Gulfport to Panama City).

One other thing. If you decide to go to Felix's Fish Camp, be sure to book reservations in advance at ph. # 251-626-6710 since they are always extremely busy at lunch and dinner, particularly in the summer with all the tourist passing through Mobile on the way to the beach.
