If I didn't steadfastly follow MSU Fan Rule #1 - never, ever, ever bet on an MSU game, it only brings disappointment - I would put $ on every one of those lines.

The "sharks" are not jumping on a game 3 months away.... these lines are set more for the casual gambler who will throw money at a game with very little info available. Sure you know the teams who is back. But injuries or other reasons a player doesn't play can happen. "Sharks" don't jump in on lines until week of a game when they have all the info they can get and look for the best position.
initial Opening game lines will be set around the the end of july. With us playing USM and a blowout guaranteed it might not be put out for a while.

Lines for our games will be posted on here the week of the game on Monday or Tuesday.

It looks on paper like a tough game, sure, but I don't get why so many people are drooling all over Arkansas. A 6-6 team last year that's going to be the same on offense and lost a lot of production on defense? I don't see it.

It's as if I'm starting to wonder if we are the idiots and are missing some obvious empirical data that everyone else clearly sees.

I guess what we have to remember about Vegas is that this isn't their belief, but rather their attempt to get equal betting on both sides. Perhaps this is their way of making money off of incorrect assumptions by the public, but I'm tired of giving the media and Vegas excuses for poorly evaluating our team.

Idk. I'm confused at this point. The team I saw in our Spring game could win 7 to 8 games in their sleep, but I guess we are the only ones that watched it.

I've been watching SEC football for many years, and I know good football when I see it, and, in our Spring game, I saw a good football team. However, I'm baffled at why no one else sees this.

Let's hope our opponents read these forecast. I have no problem with them looking past us. I realize most of our fans are looking for respect from the writers, but its going to take several 9-3 plus seasons for this to happen. After all.........we're just little ol MSU. ;)

well, the vegas 7 win total giving odds to you if you bite on the over is starting to become clear. They think we win the 4 OOC plus Kentucky. That's 5 wins. OM is a close line basically even theres 6. Have to pull an upset to push, 2 upsets to cash (not including OM as an upset. I see their logic now. They are dead wrong but i see what they are going by.

I think the lack of confidence in us stems from their mis-perceptions about our defense. They see us losing two highly drafted players and think...no way Mississippi State has the depth to recover from that.

Then we re-hire a guy as DC who was fired at Texas with supposedly elite talent so no way State can be good defensively with these two things going on.

The reality is that we do have depth and talent on that side of the ball and it meshes well with what Diaz does. The situation he has here is much better than the inflated perception of talent he was working with over there.

after looking and thinking some more… we pounded LSU at LSU last year, we POUNDED Auburn, we POUNDED aTm. WTF? Maybe if we slipped up on them and caught some breaks and stole a W, but we POUNDED them. On both sides of the ball.
