As RBritt reported here- Jacob Barfield was indeed someone that we were looking at and he has now officially committed. He had 11 home runs and hit .400 this past year and he can play third base, first, and the corner OF spots.

He will be in our current class and will have three years of eligibility left.

This is a case of Cohen finding a quality replacement for a player lost in the draft.

Its also a case of Cohen not worrying about the roster problem right now but trying to get the most talent he can find for 2016 and letting the best man win the job. He KNOWS he can not have another season next year like he did this year.

This and he knows that the corner infield position and DH is wide open for next year.

Don't worry. The staff will correct that this fall.

So where are we with the draft? How many players that were drafted are we keeping?

3 or 4 with a couple others that turned down pretty decent money on the front end...

Lost 3.
Think we got the highest rated HS catcher that actually came to school. Got 3 of the top 15-20 P that actually came to school...

Where does Mississippi State want to play you position-wise?
"He never really talked about that. He just said they need a power hitter. He said he wanted me to come in and bang it and they would find a position for me."

Looks like Cohenzz wants to turn Barfield into another punch and judy. All hope is lost.

7 years in about time he figured it out. Cohen reads ED it seems.

Not to worry. We don't play that game.

Here are the numbers for our other JUCO hitting/position playing recruits:
