Eat at Mitch's on El Paseo

It's a tremendous restaurant, and if you're there on the weekend Johnny Bench will probably be there. That's his and many others favorite spot.

You can't go wrong on the menu, but their sushi was fantastic as an appetizer...if you like sushi

Where are you staying?

Probably get a hotel in Palm Springs somewhere for the first few days and then to oak glen for the weekend and a wedding. It's the wife and I and we love sushi and really all food. It looks like golf is the best thing to do there. Any suggestions on courses? Or anything else to do?

The Westin in Palm Springs is awesome, but I have no idea what it costs to stay there. As for golf, someone else will have to help you...I haven't been able to play out there.

Take the gondola up the mountain. Try going up near sunset and coming back down at night. There is an average restaurant up top but the view of the valley is awesome.

Joshua Tree National Park is less than an hour drive from there and is a cool sight to take in if you're looking to mix things up. It's pretty dark out there in the valley so stargazing is a cool thing to do as well. The Agua Caliente is a nice casino nearby when you need your gambling fix. Be warned though, that California law requires the Craps tables to do that weird card thing where the numbers rolled are translated to playing cards to determine the true "roll." It always f**** with my mind.

Yes, this is great. Been years since I was there but if I remember correctly you go thru about 6 climate changes going up form the desert floor to the top of the mountain.
