@jcrasnick: Austin Riley, 41st pick in MLB draft, agrees to a $1.6M deal with #Braves. Slot value was $1,506,400. MVP Sports client.

I'd have gone pro too.

Good for him. Hopefully he banks most of it and is smart with his money.

And hopefully he's manning 3b in about 4 years at Suntrust park

Congrats and very happy for him. Selfishly he was the recruit I was most excited to see in an MSU uniform. Hope to see him in the big show in a few years and wish him the best of luck.

S/O to @lucas_laster for making the roster for the @rcrascals. Same team @bbrace4 pitched for before @Athletics signed him. #HailState

The wrong spot for sure. Haha

Unless Riley is on Atlanta this year, I don't think he plays for fredi

I'm so ready for the Fredi Era to be over.

I figured they would go slightly over slot to sign him. The Braves really seemed to want him. Many Braves fans that did not know how good he is felt that he was an under slot signing. I think it is possible that the Braves may have been the only team he would have signed with, which is why they took him higher than most had him rated. I hate to lose him, but since we did, I'm glad the Braves got him. He's already one of the top two third base prospects in the system.

Which isn't saying anything unfortunately. Ruiz and who?
