Awesome. Get to watch games all day and then cap it off with ours. Love late night games, bring it!

Why would this bother anyone?

On the note of television coverage: if I don't have FS1, is there any chance it will be available on watchESPN?

Nope. They do have a FoxSportsGo app that you might be able to watch off of.

Driving from north miss to Hattiesburg and then driving back that night could be a reason to complain. Guess that's why they make hotels though

Yea. If it were at 2:30 people would bitch about the heat. Whether it's at 6, 7, 8, or 9...my ass is sleeping in on Sunday if im driving back to North MS that night, ha.

This announcement pretty much confirms that I will need someone to drive me home from this game. That will be a long day with a lot of drinking. There should be some pretty good State tailgates.

Blame CUSA and Fox Sports 1. Neither school had input on kickoff.

Yea, diving Hwy 49 that late at night will be a blast. At least you don't have to stay in Hattiesbarf. It is bad enough that we have to provide much needed money to their athletic department on life support and their barely accedited school.

I'm 75 miles away. I don't drink. It will be a piece of cake for me. I don't know If I want to spend 60 plus dollars for tickets.

I was planning on going to this game - Im assuming you weren't from your post. For people like myself who were going to go to this game, this blows. Driving back from Hattiesburg to the coast at 1:30 am sucks.

I'm planning to go. Live in the Jackson-Metro area...will be getting home around 2 or 3 am. Still don't see the big deal. If the game was at 7 or 8, it would still be after midnight getting home. Just sleep an hour later Sunday or catch a nap during NFL games, ha.

I'm glad we can watch all the other games while tailgating, or at a sports bar, or on the couch that day before ours...instead of having all other games going on at the same time or during our drive home. I love late games.

Eggggzactly! Drivin Hwy 49 in & of itself is dangerous enough with all the wrecks, but add late night drivin & its a recipe for disaster. Guess hotel'ing it or bumming it on a friends couch in H-Burg that I didn't know I had will be in the works.

This is a hell of a lot better than 90+ degree heat and 90% humidity.

Would you take a different highway home if the game started at 7 or 8 instead of 9?

Exactly, on Labor Day weekend give me a 9 p.m. kickoff over a morning or afternoon kickoff anytime.

I didn't even realize it was Labor Day weekend. That's even less reason to complain. Plenty of time to recuperate.

Well my family is close enough it doesn't matter the start. Personally I like it for a holiday game. But understand people driving a long distance may have issues. If you plan of renting a room look at the rooms right off 49 on Classic Drive or on Hwy 98 right off of I-59. Some of the hotels on 49 from I-59 to the university are getting a bit of a reputation although are cheaper.

I think it's good. Everybody can dove hunt in the morning and afternoon and have time to get good and sauced before kickoff.
Those of us that won't be able to attend the game anyway should be ok with it.

I'll be ok with it as long as we have a big enough lead so I can go to sleep at a decent time. Geezers can't stay up late.

Makes it a 10 PM Kick .. too many commercials .. am tempted to record and get up early Sun morning and watch before Church.

Shoot, who am I kidding .. I know the adrenaline will be pumping .. I just will have to lean out the Beer-to-game schedule a little to compensate for the later start.

Just made hotel reservations for Saturday. FYI, no Hilton family rooms left, but Choice Hotels have plenty, and the game night rates have not been put in place yet. And yes, libations will flow with a DD. I have the oldest and the youngest at MSU. The middle one is on scholarship at USM. But, he is still a Bulldog with a cowbell on the Burg campus!

When was the last time we had a late kick off like this within a central time zone state?

The Ole Miss-Texas game in Oxford had a really late kick, but I don't think it was this late.....seems like it was at 8:30 or 8:45 though.
